Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: Watch will not power on or display

Hello, i have a galaxy watch 4 classic that was left unattended for a while and i tried to charge it but getting no display, i've already tried holding down the buttons, for a while and nothing. left it on a charge for a full 24 hours and nothing. i am techy enough to take the watch apart and got access to the battery, i've measured the voltage at the battery pads and get 4.7v dc. i am assuming that the battery is good, only thing left would be a faulty motherboard. if that's the case i see fully working similar items online selling for about 80 dollars, lowest price for a board i found was a damaged working watch for 59 dollars. just wanted to get feedback to see if i'm on the right track. thank you!

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: Galaxy watch 4 classic not turning on (black screen)

I have a 46mm galaxy watch 4 classic that is completely unresponsive with a black screen. The watch has no water damage, I took it apart just to check that. I've tried holding both buttons down to no avail. I'm running out of ideas on what it might be.

I don't have much of a back story on it, a friend gave it to me and said it quit working one night. He didn't know if it updated before it quit. it was not boot looping before it quit.

Anybody got any ideas on what it might be?

Update:

I bought another Galaxy watch on eBay for parts to potentially put two together to make one good one. Unfortunately in the eBay listing it was labeled as boot looping but now that I have that it happened but it has not shown any life since I've had it, so back to square one... At least it was only $20 lol

I did take it apart as well just to check for water damage and it was spotless so more than like more than likely the same issue as my other one..... Nice

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: New and old batteries both refuse to charge

I purchased a new battery from Ifixit for my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. I followed the installation guide very carefully (Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic Battery Replacement) and had no issues.

At first it worked fine: I charged it up, ran it down completely as instructed, and then went to charge it. The watch would charge for a few seconds or minutes, maybe showing 0% to 3%, then stop. If I tried again (and again) I'd get the same results.

Finally I gave up, assuming the battery was faulty, and put the old battery back in. It had about 14% power but immediately ran down to nothing and the watch shut down. It's refusing to charge again.

What am I missing? Could there be a bad connection to the battery somehow? Damage to some other part of the watch?

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: How to replace the back gasket

Hi all :) My Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm unfortunately got water damaged. I believe the battery died and am changing it. But checking the whole watch for further damage if found, that the back gasket desintegrated.

I want to change it and bought a new gasket of ebay.

Now my biggest issue is, that I don´t know how to attach and seal the new gasket. Even after some googling, searching youtube and even asking AI I haven´t found any usable instructions on that.

Could somebody please explain to me, how to attach and seal the new gasket?

I can provide photos if necessary.

Thank you in advance

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: New battery from Ifixit no better than old

I just purchased a new battery for my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic from Ifixit, since the old one was lasting less than a day. I remember it lasting nearly two days when the watch was new.

Here are links to the battery and guide I used.

The new battery seems to be lasting exactly as long as the old one: about 16 hours. I notice one of the reviewers on the store page had the same issue.

I followed the calibration instructions exactly, charging the watch fully and leaving it charging for two hours, running it down until it shut off due to low battery, and charging up again, so that's not the problem. Am I missing something else? Would a factory reset make a difference? Is Ifixit shipping sub-standard batteries?

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: Galaxy 4 Watch Will Not Turn On

I've got a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic that will not turn on following a software update. The standard magnetic clip-on charger does not appear to charge it, and when I attempt to charge it on an Ubiolabs Qi Charger that I use regularly for my Galaxy S9+, I get an amber flash on the indicator light - "FOD Detected." Still does not appear to have any effect on the watch.

Doing the Two-Button Hold to try to reboot the watch doesn't do anything. I'm guessing the watch is completely drained, and will not charge up again for some reason. Anyone seen this before, with Galaxy Watch 4 Classics, or other Galaxy Watches, perhaps? I'd love to attempt a repair before giving up and buying a new watch to replace this one.
