Samsung Galaxy S: Phone wont charge, and it used to be really hard to charge?

Hey, I have a samsung galaxy S. I've had it about 2 years and before that it was someones elses for maybe a year or two.

Anyway, about a year ago it was quite hard to charge and I had to sometimes put it on a certain angle for it to charge but eventually that went away after a month and started charging normally again.

But recently its been really difficult to charge and now it wont charge at all! I've tried scraping the usb port for lint and I've tried taking out the battery and I use all sorts of different chargers so that isn't the problem (unless its because I'm using off-brand chargers?)

I have dropped my phone quite a lot too so that could be the problem but I'm not sure..

I'd like to be able to fix it without going to a repair shop but I will if its necessary

Thanks! :)

Samsung Galaxy S: Display is "black" although phone powers up, rings, etc.

Same problem as the person on this link:

"I think I cut the display cable"

Just a followup question, please, as I have the same problem. Does your comment "Yup, looks like you will need a new one. It looks like the cable is an integrated part of the screen and not replaceable by itself" mean that replacing the screen in fact also automatically takes care of the broken cable?

I ask because I don't want to spend the money having the screen replaced only to find out that the cable is a seperate issue--as I can only find local and distant repairs for screen only-- and that I have to then go ahead and buy a new phone. Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy S: Does the last letter in the part number matter?

I ordered a charging port replacement for a S5 and the part model on the board itself says SM-G900W and I got a SM-G900T. I installed the part and the charging port works now but the microphone doesn’t during calls (except on speakerphone, which uses the secondary microphone). I am not sure what the issue may be as the only difference between the parts seems to be the last letter.

Any repair shops out there able to explain if the last letter on the part number matters or how do you determine which part is the right one.

Samsung Galaxy S: Where have most of my pictures gone?

Today, when I clicked on "gallery", 95% of my pictures are gone. Whether I select Time or Album, they are nearly all gone. The only thing I have done lately (yesterday) is add a WiFi range extender (Netgear N300), but supposedly it has WPS security... I have a hostile neighbor, and the first I thought is that they may have gotten into my phone. Is that possible ???

My phone which is a Galaxy S, decided to do start doing some kind of download...not sure why, or what it was about, but it said not to shut it off. The battery was low at the time, so I plugged it in, and it is was on for at least 4 hours, while the phone was plugged in...eventually the phone just shut off, and now it will not turn back on.
