Samsung Galaxy S8: How do I remove Samsungs Live Demo Unit Software?

Hello all! I have recently bought a lot of samsung smartphones on eBay. They are all Live demo Units. I am aware that there is no baseband in this phone and no IMEI assigned to them so it will never be able to connect to a cellular network but im getting really annoyed with the live demo software and would like to know how to remove it. I would flash with Odin but im on a MacBook Pro so thats not an option.

The phones are:

Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge (SM-G925x)

Samsung Galaxy s6 (SM-G920x)

and...

Samsung Galaxy s8 (SM-G950-XU)

Thanks!

Also don't bother saying return it because the screen of the s8 is worth the same that I paid for all of these. ($200 CAD)

Samsung Galaxy S8: Galaxy S8 - No cellular signal

I replaced the cracked display on my S8 and re-assembled it. Everything works great except that I can't get a cell signal. I just the “no” symbol (circle with a slash through it) where I should get the signal strength bars. I’ve tried adjusting the various cellular network settings without success, but even without that, I’m pretty sure it’s a hardware problem.

Samsung Galaxy S8: S8 Phone battery temp to low error

I had to replace the I/O daughter board because of my charging port not working once i did it was working fine but after a night of charging and on the bus the next day i attempted to charge it again and it came back with this warning.

It gave me reason to believe my charger or battery was the issue so i put the old one back in and now it does the same as well

In my research for an answer i have found that it could be the daughter-board with charging or it could be the charging coil and antenna assembly on the back of the phone.

Has anyone else had any luck with replacing the charging coils after this type of error ?

Samsung Galaxy S8: Why dissassemble entire phone to replace broken glass?

I need to replace the broken glass on a Galaxy S8. The LCD and digitizer are still fine, so I really only need to replace the glass, not the whole screen. Since entire screens are still $200 but the glass is just $20-30, obviously I want to replace just the glass. Although I haven't found a specific guide for that here on ifixit for just the glass replacement, there are plenty of YouTube videos of the process. One thing I don't understand is why they take apart the whole phone first from the back when only replacing the front glass. Can anyone tell my why that's important?

It seems to me I should be able to just apply heat directly to the front glass and take it off, then just glue a new glass on. I'd really prefer to not worry about messing up some of the internals.

Samsung Galaxy S8: Half of my screen keeps going white, what's causing it?

This hasnt been happening at all until just yesterday. My screen is already cracked but I cracked it even more the day before yesterday. Yesterday the screen would flicker in the lock screen and randomly after an hour or so of use half the screen would go white, just enough of the screen that it covers the whole keyboard except for the autofill bar. The screen glitches at random and is easily fixed by resetting the phone, but it becomes tedious since I use my phone a lot. Do I have to get the screen fixed?

Edit: The situation got way, way worse. I can’t use my phone at all anymore. In addition to the white screen, the rest of the screen just now started to go completely dark and flicker. Resetting the phone no longer fixes the issue. It got so bad I had to use my laptop to edit my question. This glitch is not only annoying, but dominating my entire phone to the point that it wont work properly.

Samsung Galaxy S8: Broken front screen (touchscreen still works).

My s8 was apparently damaged while in my pocket (phone is 2 wks old, never dropped).

Damage is limited to a small (5mm) part on the lower corner, and I'm still able to use the touch functions. (turned on developer options, and feature that lights-up where touched - and entire screen touch still works, even where glass is broken.)

I have put some clear plastic adhesive tape over the broken part of the glass to prevent cracks from spreading as a temporary fix.

Touch function still works, can I simply replace the front glass? I see some options on ebay for about $30. (incl tools). "S8 Glass Replacement Screen Lens Front Outer Repair Parts". (I do not see this available on ifixit - otherwise I'd prefer ifixit as a vendor, of course).

Or do I need to buy a whole new digitizer (@$300)?

Samsung Galaxy S8: Camera not working and overheating after screen repair

Hi,

I recently did a DIY screen swap of my Samsung Galaxy S8, following the guide given here. The phone was working find before the swap and now I’m having the following issues;

1/ Front and rear camera not working

2/ Iris recognition not working

3/ Overheating (heat can be felt near the power button)

I cleared the cache and data of the camera app, and restarted the phone a couple of times. I tried disassembling all the components and putting them back together. Even tried cleaning the components slightly with the use of some isopropyl alcohol. But nothing seems to work. Little bit desperate to find out what the cause could be.

I wanted to ask if anyone could help me, before I take it to a service centre.

Thank you.

Update (10/31/2018)

The symptoms I’m seeing are;

1/ The front & rear camera are not working.

2/ In the diagnostics menu (*#0*#), everything works expect for the sensors section, and both camera. When I try to get these, the screen shows blank and freezes.

3/ LED notification indicators do not work, even when battery is low or when the phone is plugged in.

4/ When the phone is plugged into charge, it either stays on 0% or charges to 5%~6% and then starts to go back to 0%. During this time the phone (near the power button) starts to get really hot.

It stopped working at the same time so i figured it might not be hsrdware related since they are separate hardware (iris is with front cam and sensors have their own sensory array).
