Samsung Galaxy S8: Remove Verizon Boot Splash Screen

Hi,

I upgraded my S8 to a S9 and would like to sell my old S8 as an unlocked device.

I was told that being that the phone is paid off, It is unlocked, and can be used on any carrier.

This is great, but am wondering how to remove the Verizon Boot Splash screen and the pre loaded Verizon applications after the device is reset.

If I were to buy an unlocked phone and were to use the device on a different carrier, I wouldn’t want the Verizon bloatware on my device.

Is there any way to get the stock android firmware on the device. As if it was bought directly from Samsung?

And if not, do you have any suggestions for the best way to go about selling it as an unlocked phone with all the added Verizon crap?

Thanks,

Taylor

Samsung Galaxy S8: Best adhesive/liquid adhesive for resealing the back glass

Hello everyone, I was planning to replace my Galaxy s8's battery, and so I would much appreciate if someone could tell me if it were better to use tape adhesive or liquid adhesive to reseal the phone's back glass. And in both cases, which brand and properties should the tape/liquid adhesive have.

Thanks and have a good day.

Samsung Galaxy S8: Can I use S8+ battery on S8?

Hi, I have an s8, and everything is awesome about it except the battery. I use it in HD+ 720p and even then i need to charge the %#*@ thing TWICE a day! i dont even talk about 1080p and 1440p. So i planned something wild to do. Can i get a galaxy S8+ battery, and put it to S8? would it fit? and more importantly what other samsung batteries are same size as S8’s but bigger capacity. and is it safe? can the phone explode? Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy S8: Camera not working and overheating after screen repair

Hi,

I recently did a DIY screen swap of my Samsung Galaxy S8, following the guide given here. The phone was working find before the swap and now I’m having the following issues;

1/ Front and rear camera not working

2/ Iris recognition not working

3/ Overheating (heat can be felt near the power button)

I cleared the cache and data of the camera app, and restarted the phone a couple of times. I tried disassembling all the components and putting them back together. Even tried cleaning the components slightly with the use of some isopropyl alcohol. But nothing seems to work. Little bit desperate to find out what the cause could be.

I wanted to ask if anyone could help me, before I take it to a service centre.

Thank you.

Update (10/31/2018)

The symptoms I’m seeing are;

1/ The front & rear camera are not working.

2/ In the diagnostics menu (*#0*#), everything works expect for the sensors section, and both camera. When I try to get these, the screen shows blank and freezes.

3/ LED notification indicators do not work, even when battery is low or when the phone is plugged in.

4/ When the phone is plugged into charge, it either stays on 0% or charges to 5%~6% and then starts to go back to 0%. During this time the phone (near the power button) starts to get really hot.

Samsung Galaxy S8: S8 Phone battery temp to low error

I had to replace the I/O daughter board because of my charging port not working once i did it was working fine but after a night of charging and on the bus the next day i attempted to charge it again and it came back with this warning.

It gave me reason to believe my charger or battery was the issue so i put the old one back in and now it does the same as well

In my research for an answer i have found that it could be the daughter-board with charging or it could be the charging coil and antenna assembly on the back of the phone.

Has anyone else had any luck with replacing the charging coils after this type of error ?

Samsung Galaxy S8: Galaxy S8 - No cellular signal

I’ve tried adjusting the various cellular network settings without success, but even without that, I’m pretty sure it’s a hardware problem.
