Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: Camera failed error after replacement?

I just replaced the camera on an S6 Edge (SM-G925A) with a new unit and it's showing a "Camera failed" error whenever I open the Camera app. I used the test mode (*#0*#) and confirmed that Mega Cam wasn't working. I put the original camera unit back in the phone and still get the same error. The connector on the cameras and the connector on the board both look pretty clean. I've tried clearing the caches from the boot menu as well but to no avail. Short of resetting it, what else should I try? Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: Changing the home button : will the fingerprint still work?

Hi,

I was before a technician in smartphone fixes but I'm now done with this.

A friend asked me to replace her broken Samsung S6 Edge screen. Her original screen is white but she want to change for a gold one.

I couldn't find any information on the internet about the fingerprint sensor. Does it still work after a replacement ? Because I know it's not the case for Apple branded phones.

If someone has already experienced a home button with fingerprint sensor swap on a Samsung phone, please let me know if it still worked after you were done with your job.

Thanks :)

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: S6 Edge - various problems after battery replacement

Hi all,

I want to start giving the old smartphones that keep accumulating in our family a second life - which primarily means replacing aged batteries.

I actually want to use my S7 as a bike computer with the Komoot app, but decided to get some practice on my wife's old S6 Edge, which conveniently partially disassembled itself (bloated battery had opened the back cover).

So I got myself a spare battery and proceeded with the disassembly. Disconnecting all connectors, replacing the battery, reconnecting everything, and putting back the 13 screws that connect the frame to the display all worked ok, and the device would start up.

Alas, there are now a few glitches:

- the device feels quite slow (at least according to my wife... but maybe that is just subjective, now being used to much more modern devices)

- the device gets really warm (primarily on the middle of the right side, i.e. where the main board is located), even without any apps running, the battery also drains quite fast

- the left touch button (which on this device brings up the "task manager"/"app switcher") does not work. The right touch button ("back") works ok, as does the home button.

Everything else seems to work fine.

I disassembled everything twice, cleaned all connectors with alcohol, reassembled, same result. All connectors appear to be properly connected.

Any idea what could have gone wrong?

Needless to say, with that not-so-great result of my first repair attempts, I hesitate to work on anything more valuable than the S6...

Regards

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge: "Battery Temperature too low" when charging after water damage

Hello, my Galaxy S6 Edge shows "Battery temperature too low" when trying to charge, doesn't matter if USB or inductive. It had contact with water so I think this might be the reason. I checked the temperature with an app and it always shows -20°C. Does somebody know what to do? I have already repaired some other phones but mostly just Display replacement or something like that. Do you think changing the battery would help? I also read that there's a temperature sensor but I can't find any replacement parts for that one.. Thanks in advance.
