Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: No network after screen replacement

Replaced the screen/frame on an AT&T S20 Plus, transferred over all parts including front camera, charging daughterboard, 5G antennas, etc. After sealing it back up, it’s not detecting the cellular network. Fearing a bad part, I put it back in the original screen/frame and same thing. All connectors look fine, pressure pins on the charging port are in good condition, too. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: (Solved) Why Is my Front Facing camera not working after a lcd repair?

When replacing screen with an OEM Service pack from a reputable supplier, I have lost the functionality of my selfie camera. While testing in old screen, selfie camera works. I have double checked my supplier and found that this screen only works on non-verizon models. This OEM Service pack comes with a camera not compatible with the verizon main-board. Solution is to get a screen that is compatible which isn’t available at time of posting.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: samsung blocking parts replacement? No network after part replacemen

My S20+ port got moisture problem, so i bought a replacement charging port on ebay. here is with i found

disconnecting and connecting OG charging port fix the moisture problems but randomly happen again in between 1 to 3 week

I get no network if i boot with replacement charging port.

If i boot up with OG charging port, then change it to replacement charging port. everything works Till i restart the phone

why is this happening? is samsung blocking third party parts?

Update (06/03/2022)

forgot to say when i meant no network, it mean a a circle with a line cross it

but yeah, i meant the whole USB-C Charging Port. my phone is the Taiwan model(i am in UK currently), the G9860, i made sure the replacement part is for the G9860(its printed on the board).

If its incompatible parts that is causing the network problem, it should just not work at all, they fact the changing part works mean its not a hardware problem right? i actually went to a third party repair shop with the same result.

oh, i just noticed the above pic is the exactly same as my replacement part(all the model number matches)

but my OG part is slightly different compare to the above pic, highlighted the red circle from picture of my OG part

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: S20+ with new ifixit battery not charging/not turning on

I bought a replacement battery from ifixit, a week ago, for my old samsung s20+. After carefully installing it, phone doesnt turn on at all and while charging phone only pulls about 1.7 watts.

So i tried the original battery to confirm the phone was working. and phone boots up without any issues and while charging it pulls 18-20watts easily.

I contacted ifixit support and they arranged another replacement battery but this battery also does the same thing. Not charging and phone doesnt turns on. Phone still works with the original battery.

So are there any hidden steps that i got to do during battery replacement process or do i just have bad luck and got 2 dead batteries?

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: Can't replace rear camera as it needs to be pre-programmed?

Sent my phone to get its rear camera replacement, reputable company.

However, it's been over 2 weeks now. They've said that they need to take a camera from an existing phone to replace it. Because an OEM or replacement camera won't work as it needs to be pre-programmed.

I've never heard of this, and there are plenty of videos of S20's cameras being replaced with no mention of programming.

It just seems weird if they're lying or have made a mistake. Tempted to get my phone back and do the repair myself, but then if it actually does need programmed I'd be screwed.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: Wont charge even after replacement parts

Hi,

this is for the s20 series along with the note 10 series (same issue ).

I have had multiple s20s and note 10s come in for not charging. wether they dont charge at all, or will still charge but show the yellow triangle, or just dont show any current at all.

I have replaced the charge port board, 2 flex cables along with the wireless charging /nfc part along with the battery and nfc pcb connectors. I have tried multiple parts from multiple suppliers multiple times with the same results, still wont charge. About 10% of these 2 models that come in one of those 4 parts fixes the issue and all is well. the other 90% are failed. I know there is the ic chip under the metal cover up and to the right of the battery connector however haven’t dug into that yet.

anybody else run into this?

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: Galaxy S20+ not charging via cable after the battery is fully drained

I’m experiencing a strange issue with my Galaxy S20 Plus. Everything on my phone works fine, except for charging via cable when the battery is completely drained.

When the battery reaches zero, the phone shows the charging symbol when I connect it to the cable, but the rotating circle doesn’t appear, and it won’t start charging. I’ve tried keeping it plugged in for an hour, but it still won’t charge. As a workaround, I tried charging the phone wirelessly. Once it reaches 1% charge and the green circle starts rotating on the screen, I can connect it to the cable, and it will begin charging normally.

I’ve also noticed that OTG does not detect any USB drives.

I tried replacing the charging connector along with the board, but this hasn’t resolved the issue. Could you help identify the exact problem?

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: New Screen - Touchscreen works but Black Screen

Hey all,

I just replaced my S20+ 5G with a 3rd party screen + chassis and ran into an issue. Everything installed perfectly and powers on as expected, but the screen never turns on - I can even feel the vibrations from inputting my lock screen code, but I can't see a thing.

I was comparing my two displays and I noticed that the resistors(?) by the display cable on the bottom of the phone were different. The broken but functioning one has a 4x5 grid, whereas the new one has less resistors and are in a different pattern. I currently have everything reinstalled in the old case and am waiting for a new replacement to come in.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this change in resistors could cause the LCD to not turn on? Or since I am getting tactile feedback, it might just be the display flex cable that's messed up? Not trying to spend too much on the phone, so looking for advice before spending the extra $100 for a genuine Samsung screen. TIA!

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus: S20+ Screen black but touch works

So My phone screen started acting funny two days ago. Was fine one second then started with horizontal lines and looked like Windows 95 32-bit color and the AOD would show up as white lines at the very top. It also got really warm and the battery was draining fast.

I powered it off and plugged it in overnight and it was back to normal and fine all day yesterday. Plugged it in last night before bed - zero issues. Now this morning the screen is black and won't turn on at all. The touch seems to work though, I can input my swipe code and it'll seemingly unlock and show up on my PC.

I've done the volume down and power button restart thing a few times with no success. I've tried using Windows Phone Link and Samsung DEX to get into my phone but I can't see the phone screen to complete the setup.

Any ideas? Screen just dead but phone OK? It did get dropped in water about 24 hours before the screen issue started but other than the "moisture in charging port" message it was perfectly fine.
