I was replacing my battery and afterwards my volume up rocker doesn't work. I verified that all cables are plugged and all. I even checked the button with the casing off. What is weird is the volume down works, but not the up. Even weirder is that if I touch the ribbon between the volume down and the power button it turns up the volume.

Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2: Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 won't go past Samsung logo to reboot

I have just replaced the battery pack, charging port and ribbon on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 device as I had been having screen flicker, random reboot and charging problems (God bless utube tutorials!) This seems to have solved the charging problem as I was able to charge the new battery successfully (still without turning it back on)

However, whilst I was doing the repair, I also disconnected the LCD ribbon cable in an effort to make sure that it was seated correctly in both ribbon connectors as I had seen that sometimes the bottom connector (under the tape) snaps up after tablet has been knocked (which mine has)which causes other issues.

I found it quite difficult to get the LCD ribbon back into the holders and had to flex and bend it quite a bit in the process. Now when I switch on the device it knows what it is (as Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 appears on the screen) then it goes to the Samsung logo but won’t boot up past this point. I can also display the odin(?) screen when I press the on and sound buttons together. I can also cancel the odin screen with the sound button.

Any ideas what I should do next? Or should I just end my foolish endeavours and take it to someone who knows what they are doing with these devices. Am hoping I haven’t totalled it with my fiddling!

Any helpful suggestions gratefully received.

Many thanks’

JV

Samsung Galaxy Note Tablet: please tell me there is a way to save those pics

I got a note 9 just before vacation and stupidly forgot to set up account w Samsung. I just threw in a password (that I have forgotten) and started taking pictures. Got home from trip and my phone restarted itself now I can’t get past the passcode screen. I can't even turn it off. Called Samsung & they said if I could prove purchase and pay for the phone in full that they could unlock it. My main concern is not losing the data because the pictures are of my last moments with my dad. He passed away 2 days after our trip. If it weren’t for those pics I’d say F it and factory reset. Long story short, I paid the entire amount to Samsung and now they’re telling me there’s no way to get to the pictures. I paid $1,000 for them to tell me how to do a factory reset. PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A WAY TO SAVE THOSE PICS BEFORE I HAVE TO WIPE THE PHONE. I KNOW, I’M A DUMBASS FOR NOT REGISTERING WITH SAMSUNG OR LOGGING INTO THE CLOUD FIRST…I KNOW I SCREWED MYSELF, BUT SURELY I CAN’T BE THE ONLY %##&%&# OUT THERE WHO’S DONE THIS. THERE HAS TO BE A WAY. PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS I’M DESPERATE FOR HELP. PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
