Samsung Galaxy Note II: I need help with eMMC problem - remove from phone/extract data

Hi. I’m August. I need help about eMMC problems.

The phone itself is Galaxy Note II, using the eMMC model KMVTU000LM-B503.

My phone is dead like more than a year ago but I just put it somewhere so that I presume there was no more damage to the phone since it is dead. It may be the sudden death syndrome so that may the eMMC itself is dead but this little piece have data which is really precious to me. I want to try everything I can. At least be sure that this one is really dead. So that I can move on from this.

So, first thing, is there any way that I can remove the eMMC from the motherboard by myself? If it is unavailable, is there any other chances that I can get the service of removing eMMC without damaging it without get to the data recovery center?

Second thing, on the supposition that I successfully remove it from the motherboard, how can I use the thing so called “USB type eMMC Adaptor”? And if I make it out, how can I extract the data from the eMMC?

I heard that It needs a certain firmware or some sort of it to connect between my PC and eMMC. Where can I get it, how can I use it, any other tips, etc., I wish that I can get all about it since I’m not even an amateur on this.

Thank you for your interest on my question. I can feel that this will be a hard job on me but I think it’ll be worth for me. Please be generous and help me, tech-gods.

Samsung Galaxy Note II: I need professional tips from tearing down internal memory to so on

Hi. First of all, thanks to (trying) helping me out.

Currently my Phone - Samsung Galaxy Note II - had been completely dead.

It’s jsut dead while I was sleeping. The guy at the service center said that it may be dead because of bad battery. So that bad battery caused the feedback(?) electricity so that the main board may be damaged.

But when I tried my external Micro SD card, it was alive. It seems that there was a bit of a chance to recover (some) data from internal storage memory unit. Or I was one heck of a lucky man so that the damage’s only taken on power supply unit or so.

But the problem is, I cannot pay that bunch of money to try recovering data which is not sure that it will be restored via recovery center. Therefore I’m thinking of buy the tools if it’s not that expensive or rent it from my neighbor who run the electricity tools store.

It may be really difficult and complex but yea, worth a try I guess. It’s dead phone anyway so.

If you think you have tips that works on me or think I need to consider more conditions and so, please reply. I really appreciate to every reply. Thanks to you in advance again.

Update (12/06/2018)

I just found out that this process is way much more complex than I expected.. I was expecting like some kind of bulk board for docking the nand memory but my gosh.. any advice on this situation? Requesting to the center is the only option?

Samsung Galaxy Note II: Device will not turn on SGH-I317

I was playing a game on my phone a few days ago and it just turned off, battery was at 76%. No warning no nothing. Changed the battery and still nothing. It wont make any noise or vibrate when it's plugged in. Tried using several different cables and wall plugs as well as different outlets. Still nothing. Seems the phone just up and quit when it had no problems before it just shut off. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it just dead completely?

Samsung Galaxy Note II: power ic or mobo dmg?

i have a note 2 canadian model sgh i317m. A few months back i found that my note 2 was getting very hot and slowing down ALOT when doing the mist mundane tasks.. then all of a sudden i saw the battery LED flashing multi colours ... it would change from blue to white to green to yellow..all colours of the rainbow. After a couple minutes, the phone would not start up again.

I went to buy original oem new samsung battery and replaced it.. it still would not start.. I also replaced the usb charging flex component. Still no luck.

After a few weeks, I read online that the problem could be the power IC unit The voltage is not being suffuciently chopped up and being delivered to all of the diff internal components. The label on the power ic unit is very small and half rubbed off.. but it looks like it says MAX77867 or something like that.

Is it possible the problem could be the power IC unit ? How can I test which internal component is at fault here? I have a multimeter with me. Any directions to move forward would help.

Thank you
