Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Why does GPS never work?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900T for T-Mobile.

The only issue I have with it is that GPS almost or never works at all.

I have tried multiple ways to fix the GPS on it and so far nothing. I have not however tried to take it apart or do any kind of rooting to fix the problem, and I don't plan on doing that either.

When I use Maps, or any other "location-based services", the GPS is able to be turned on, and it acts like its trying to find my location, but its really not. I have sat for hours at a time for it to get my location, still nothing.

What could be wrong with it? I thought it might have to do with the GPS antenna having to be replaced, but I don't know how much that would cost since I bought my phone from a electronics dealer. And I would do it myself if I could find a way to do it without putting my phone in harms way.

I have no other issues with my phone, just this one. Can somebody tell me what the issue is?

Thanks, Ray

Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Full grey screen with pixels and lines after dropping in water?

Hi, so yesterday, I was taking photos while standing next to a pond and my phone slipped out my hands and fell into the pond. It was submerged fully for about 4 seconds before I got it out. After I got it out, I straight away took it apart and dried the the insides, taking out the battery as well. So, since I'm stupid, I put it back together while it was still a bit wet (I didn't notice it was) and turned it on. It worked for a couple of minutes then the back button didn't work and it just shut down. After repeatedly pressing the power button, it came up with a full fuzzy screen of grey, black and pink pixels and lines twice. The entire screen was like that... have I fried it? I really need answers so anything or any questions would be so helpful! Thank you!

Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Strange screen issue depending on the brightness

Hi.

I just bought a Galaxy Note 3, and seems to have an issue, basically, if the brightness is not on max, it shows this strange static on the screen.

Sometimes it doesn't show, but that seems to be rare.

Could this be a flex cable issue?

Thanks

Update 12/28/2022

Unfortunately, the screen is all black now, it started as a few purple spots to a completely non-functional screen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Water Damaged Note 3

It happened a few months ago.

I woke up seeing my phone is still charging. I grabbed it and noticed it was unexpectedly hot. It was wet so i wipe it with cloth. But i also noticed there was already water on the inside so i immediately remove the battery, sim card and sd card. I put it in the rice for a few hours and got impatient and tried to charge it and a few minutes, it still shows no sign of life and i put it back in the rice once again and leave it for a day.

I woke up and immediately go to my phone and charge it for a few hours… still no signs of life. But i feel my phone warm as it charges so i thought my phone was still alive. I searched everything on how to fix it and i saw some videos about cleaning it with alcohol. I disassemble my phone carefully and got a toothbrush and an ipa 70 percent. Still doesnt work but they said use pure ipa 99 so i buyed one and disassemble it once more and cleaned it with ipa 99 and dryed it for today. But still it does not work. Im on an edge of giving up and my last plan is to dunk the motherboard and other parts or submerge the phone in ipa 99 please help me. Last note: it happened a few months ago and i tried using ipa 99 this week and still does not work

The motherboard looks clean, i noticed some salt thingy and i think thats a corrosion and cleaned it with 99 ipa. Charging port also have corrosion and cleaned it and the phone still not work

Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Microphone doesn't work after USB daughter board replaced

My old but reliable Note 3 charged slower and slower and then not at all. Probably due to dirt accumulated in the USB port. I bought and replaced the daughter board that includes the USB port and now it charges quickly. However now the microphone doesn’t work at all, but the speakerphone does when in phone mode. So now I can’t verbally input anything, e.g., text messages, search fields, voice commands….. There was some sticky, gray colored film between part of the board and the phone chassis to the right side of the USB port as you look down onto the back of the phone. I think it may have something to do with this. I disturbed the film when removing the old board but was careful to replace it as shown in the teardown video. Thanks for any help. (re: Right to Repair- I bought it, I own it, and I can do what I want with it (within FCC Rules & Regs) thank you very much!)

Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Fast blinking red light, but not battery/charging problem

My Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900A with Android 5.0) has acquired a fast blinking red light (4 times/second) when the screen is dark. Everything else seems fine. The battery still holds a charge and charges as it always has. It happens whether the phone is plugged in for charging or not. I've rebooted, I've pulled the battery out and put it back in. I've gone to Settings -> Device -> LED indicator and unchecked all the boxes. Nothing affects it when the phone is turned on and the screen is off (due to timing out or me forcing it to "time out" by pressing the power button quickly).

I haven't found any documentation on what this might be other than due to battery problems, which I don't seem to be having. The phone is 3 years old and has spent almost all of its life plugged in for charging.

Any ideas what this means? Presumably it is a hardware notification, since it is unaffected by soft-disabling the LED indicator (on the one settings screen I mention above).
