Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014: Screen broken but not cracked?

Hi!

Recently, I accidentally nudged my tablet off of my bed, which is not very high. It fell to the ground and hit it quite lightly. However, the screen was flickering. Soon, the screen stopped flickering and all was well, but, after around 20 minutes, the screen flickered once more, but this time, instead of fixing itself, the flickering stopped and the screen seemed to die as such, leaving a grey coloured bar which takes up about a third of the screen. The area still works up there, but it is a solid light grey colour, with hints of whatever other colours are showing on the functioning part of the screen. I have reconnected the lcd cable multiple times. One thing is, this is a model which was refurbished (I think- purchased from ebay a long time ago), and it has some transparent green tape going across some areas, covering parts of the tablet. I can only guess that these are areas where repairs have happened, but I fear that that could be the problem. If someone could help me, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Cheers in advance.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014: Not charging, screen flickering

Hi all, so I'm working on a friend's Note 10.1 2014 edition, and she brought it to me telling me it wasn't charging. I tried different cables, but the same thing happened - the battery symbol would show up (as drained) first, then the screen would start flickering. I left it charging for 2 hours and not even one bar would show up.

Then I found this forum with the exact same problem. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr...

So I looked into the USB charging port and sure enough, the pins were bent and damaged. So I ordered a new part, followed the guide here on replacing the charging cable inside. Plugged it in after the change - same exact problem.

I'm stumped and I can't find any others having this issue. What do you think? Bad motherboard?

Thanks -

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014: Note 10.1 2014 edition stuck at Boot logo, backlight flashing SOLUTION

I had this exact issue, I searched the internet for hours and hours, and tried every combination of button pushes and tried getting into recovery mode but always got stuck at the first logo screen. After trying just about everything I could think of, I stumbled onto the solution by trial and error and a little bit of logic.

I got my tablet working. Here is how I did it.

I opened my Tablet up. I used my fingernails to separate the chrome outside bezel from the screen just enough to slide a old credit card in and pry'ed the screen up, and continued all the way around twice until I was able to separate the the screen from the back. I disconnected the battery, and then disconnected every ribbon cable visible, waited 30 secs and reconnected all but the LCD ribbon cable, This cable is how the screen and backlight is connected to the tablet. I reconnected the battery and plugged the charger in, leaving the display ribbon cable unplugged. I charged it for several hours using a 2.0A charger for my Galaxy Note 8 phone, and then I plugged the ribbon cable for the screen back in and it booted right up and works fine!

The reason why it was locking up is simple.

The battery was totally and completely discharged. When this is the case it has a hard time taking a charge when the screen keeps booting up to display the charging icon and powers the backlight. The voltage drops so low the processor fails, and Your frozen up until you disconnect the charger cord, then it dies.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014: Tablet won't turn on, even when charged?

Hi, so my tablet has been dead for a about a week or 2 and so I tried to plug it into my PS3 and the battery popped up including the loading image but it looked frozen and didn't look like it was doing anything. So I took it to charge to my laptop instead and it still did the same thing. Then I tried turning it off and on and now it doesn't do anything at all. Just a black screen, nothing turns on. I tried holding the power button many times and it still did nothing. Will I need a new battery?

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014: Touchscreen does not work

My tablet fell several times (3 or 4), usually starting to have issues with the screen. I have always managed to fix the screen. But since the last time, the touchscreen doesn't work anymore. I think that it worked somewhat immediately after it fell, so maybe it was me tampering with the screen connector that ruined it. Any way to check this? Which one is the connector for the digitizer/touchscreen?
