Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Power Button stopped responding. Phone will not turn on.

I have had this Samsung Galaxy Nexus for less than 3 months. Originally, it took about 20 presses to get the power button to respond, but now, nothing happens when I push it. The screen comes on when I connect the phone to power, and it shows the battery indicator, but nothing else happens. How can I fix this? This seems to be a common problem with the Samsung Nexus S, and now it's happening with the Galaxy Nexus.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Fixing possibly damaged USB charging port

I seem to be experiencing this issue.

I think it most likely is a mechanical issue. (The phone seems to react to USB cable movement; what makes it difficult to determine is that sometimes moving the cable doesn't help until rebooting the phone.)

After some investigation, I found that there are suggestions to replace the charging port. (One auction—already over—is here.)

I guess I'm answering my own question already, but in that case, this post might be useful to others—especially since it seems that this is one of the most common issues. Actually, I would like advice on whether my diagnosis is right. And assuming it is, maybe someone who's already done the repair could write a guide on how to do it.

It looks like a straightforward change, but I'm a total noob.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Broken volume flex cable. How to fix?

So I did the unthinkable, I broke something a phone not soon after I got it. While I was changing the housing for the GNex, I forgot to remove the SIM card and it jammed the volume flex cable, and it ended up being severed.

I just ordered replacements parts on http://www.parts4repair.com/samsung-gala..., but I tried to find any help or information on how to reattach a new flex cable, however there seems to be no information.

iFixIt does say that the volume flex cable is soldered to the main board, but that's about it.

So my question is, how should I proceed to re-solder a new volume flex cable? I have some experience but I have never done something so "risky"... Am I better off finding a repair shop?

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Galaxy Nexus does not start at all?

Hello my Ifixit friends! A customer brought me a Galaxy Nexus (I9250) with a rather strange problem. He had problems charging his phone over the past month or so, saying he had to hold the cable in a very specific way for it to take any charge. Then, it stopped taking any charge at all.

I assumed the problem was the charging dock, so I changed it out to a new one and attempted to charge it. No luck. The battery looks fine, however I do not have a new one to try. (I've ordered one now, should come soon..)

I've checked the motherboard for any signs of water damage but it looks beautiful. Despite that, I cleaned it with some Isopropyl and a soft brush. Any ideas besides the battery? I was thinking about changing out the screen, to see if the screen could in some way be damaged. (Customer claims he's never dropped the phone, and when I look around the edges it looks to be a true statement.)

I'm at a loss except for possibly the battery, which wouldn't make sense from the information I've received from the customer...

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: How to fix broken screen myself?

I dropped my Verizon Galaxy Nexus (SCH-i515) and the screen's outer glass broke. The display itself and the digitizer (touch sensor) seem to work just fine. Is there a DIY method of replacing the broken glass? I've seen the part (the glass front panel) online for anywhere from $15 to $25, but I've also read that the glass and the digitizer are somehow glued together such that it's necessary to replace the whole display (around $150-200!).

Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Suggestion for Dead Galaxy Nexus

Hi,

I would like to fix my old and dead Samsung Galaxy Nexus (just wanted to learn how to fix stuffs). I never fix a dead phone before, so this is my first time doing it.

Initially the eMMC is broken (I got bootloops and cannot reflash factory image). I left it died for around 1 year, and now after I try to turn it on, it only shows the Google logo.

After a few searches, it seems I have these options:

1. I found a store locally that sells only the eMMC for around $15, but I couldn't find a good guide and the tools to replace the eMMC.

2. I also found a new Galaxy Nexus motherboard on ebay, but with price around $90s (with shipping cost). I can try to follow the guide on ifixit and buy the tools as well for replacing the motherboard.

3. Also on ebay, I found a used Galaxy Nexus motherboard for around $20, but I'm not sure about the quality of this motherboard.

What do you guys suggest for me to fix this phone?

This is my first time posting here, please forgive any mistake I make in this post.

Thank you.
