Can RAM be upgraded in this Chromebook? The module listed in the specs is 2GB DDR3L RAM. This is readily available in 4GB and 8GB kits. The Chromebook gets sluggish over time and this would be a great help

Hello, I purchased a chrome book off of ebay with a cracked screen , after replacing the screen and booting the device i found that it was a managed device ive tried several ways of rebooting , power wash even reinstalling the operating system with no avail ..

Any tricks to return it to factory ??

So a bunch of these Samsung Chromebooks were thrown out of my school cuz they were too old and won’t update anymore. But they are still managed by the school. Any way to remove that remotely? Or do I have to contact the school?

Samsung Chromebook Series 3: Need help reconnecting trackpad ribbon cable to motherboard!

Hi. I replaced the battery on my 5-year old Chromebook. After it charged I had no cursor. I disconnected the trackpad and cleaned it with alcohol and replaced, replacing the ribbon cables, etc. Still no cursor. However, in the process of cleaning I disconnected ribbon cable port from the motherboard on the opposite end from the trackpad. I shouldn’t have done this. I thought it didn’t look like it was seated properly so I pulled up on it. Now I don’t know how to reconnect it. It doesn’t seem intuitive. Does it snap into place (doesn’t seem so)? Do I get it flush with the motherboard and push it forward toward the back of the computer? When I was playing around with it I noticed a tiny metal bracket or “arm” to the left of the place where the port should be seated. I inadvertently broke that off the board when I tried to bend it. I’m hoping that this can be fixed. The ribbon cable is securely clamped in the port, but the port is not connected to the motherboard. Also, still don’t know how I lost the cursor nor how to get it back. Thank you in advance for your great instructions and photos. I hope you can help me. I have the Samsung Chromebook 3. I help out at the school computer lab and we have about 70 chrome books. I would say at least ten of them are suffering from this problem. To describe the problem in further detail when you click the left or the right button on the track pad the buttons dont pop back up and there is no click it just sags down when you click it and sags back up once you have let go

Every time I push back and pull forward my Chromebook screen, most of the previously black pixels turn green. It takes a lot of time to find the right angle where the image returns to normal. Is there a DIY way to fix this?

I dropped my Chrome Book and now when I turn it on half the screen is white and the other is black. If I bend the screen, a little bit of the home screen will show. It also had colored lines, large black spots, and a white line across the screen. Is there anyway to fix it? My screen lookes like this.

I am currently failing to unscrew the case screws. I have read that loctite may have been used. I have attempted to contact computer repair shops with no luck. I've also attempted rubber bands. I am currently working with a precision screw driver set. I am looking for some advice to remove these screws.
