Samsung Brightside: Why is my phone screen black after water damage?

I accidentally dropped my phone in a sink full of water. I took the phone out right away, took the back off, and put it in rice. I took it out a few times after that to check it and when I did it still turned on and worked. However, at one point when I took it out the screen flickered and turned black. I put the phone back in rice for 24 hours and took it out a day later. When I tried turning it on it turned on, but the screen is still black and I can't see anything. Is there anything I can do to do fix this?

Samsung Brightside: Phone will not turn off without removing batter

My Samsung Brightside all of a sudden from one day to next will not turn off anymore, only way I can turn off is by removing battery. Also when I do charge it and remove charger the phone will keep charging even though charger is disconnected. I had this problem with another Brightside previously and just got rid of it for another one. Now this one is doing same thing and nothing has happened to it, no water damage, no dropping, etc. I take really good care of my phones and I don't want to buy another one again. Does anyone have any suggestions as I love this phone and do not want to upgrade to smart phone too expensive. Thank you!

Samsung Brightside: some water got on my phone that was on the counter.

I had something similar happen to me, I was washing my hands by the sink and some water got on my phone that was on the counter. I had gotten some water in the cracks on my screen and I immediately wiped them off and headed to school. after about an hour I noticed my screen began to look wet, but how you'd imagine paper to look when wet and I assume I didn't get all of the water off. after about another hour, I had been trying to get the water out but couldn't and then my screen went solid black. it's been 3 months and my phone screen has been black but it turns on and off fine (my phone vibrates when turning on and off.) and the charging port works (a red dot at the top of my phone appears when charging.) the phone is completely charged and has been for months, I'm not sure what to do about it. there are no clear signs of water left other than maybe the black screen but the rest of the phone is completely dry. any tips?

Samsung Brightside: Can I just swap out the front screens of 2 different brightside?

I have 2 brightsides here one was my father's but it has a shattered front screen. But I have this other one here that works great except it won't take a charge anymore. I was wondering if I'd be able to take the front screen, housing and all so I don't have to get in to the guts, of the the one that wont take charge and put it on to my father's phone? They are the same model number they are just different colors.

Samsung Brightside: Screen inoperable and flashes

Phone turns on, but screen flashes and the touchscreen doesn’t work. The keyboard will work. If you start typing anything the phone screen opens and if you hit mail (blue envelope) on the keyboard you can actually type a message and it will bring up contacts but I don’t know if I can send because I don’t have an acct anymore on that phone. I’m desperately trying to get my photos off of that phone, they are of my first grandchild. Is there a way or would you know what the problem is???

Samsung Brightside: brightside turned off and won't charge or turn on

My Samsung Brightside was working without incident. I usually keep it turned off and without a battery, except for emergencies or to check for messages every few days. But after my neighbor had a car accident, I extended my offer to help their family if they needed anything and left a battery in it, and left the phone on all the time for a week, in case my neighbor texted. I walked over to check it in case I had a text message, and the screen was black. Figuring the battery was dead, I put a charged battery in the phone but it remained off and black screen. I plugged it into a wall charger and still nothing, no Verizon logo, no power, no symbol showing it was charging, no lights or sounds. I swapped out the battery for yet another battery and still nothing. I plugged it into a USB port on my computer and nothing. I can’t seem to get any data recovery programs to find the phone because it won’t turn on, even while on a charging source. I need to retrieve text messages from this phone. I was able to retrieve all photos as they were stored on the SD card. The phone was not dropped or exposed to temperature extremes or any water; it was just sitting on the counter and apparently died and no battery, charger cord or charging source has successfully revived it. Any suggestions?? If data recovery can’t find the phone, is it dead? Or could it just be the backlight of the screen that has gone black? Can that be replaced?

Samsung Brightside: Shows "Battery charging" screen when plugged in, but won't turn on

Hi guys, see if anyone knows about this. I left my Samsung Brightside in my car the other day. It was cold, but not below freezing temps. When I brought it in and opened up the keyboard to send a text, the screen went all haywire, colors inverted, distortions, icons all scrambled, etc. I took the battery out and put it back in and it worked fine for about an hour, and then the screen went white, then turned off. Tried the battery trick again and it didn't work. Now, the phone won't turn on, but when plugged in to the charger, the Verizon logo will appear and then it will go to the "Battery Charging" screen, but still won't turn on. Is there any kind of fix to this?
