Saeco Vienna Sup 018: Why is freshly ground coffee going all over inside machine and out?

My Saeco Vienna Plus, model SUP018m is still brewing coffee fine, but it is also spewing freshly ground coffee inside and outside of the machine - a lot of them. I took it for repair to a local guy and he couldn’t fix it, (but still charged me $150!) He thought the grinder mechanism might be cracked. Someone else I talked to wondered if it might be something wrong with the coffee doser or the chute leading from the grinder to the brew group. I would really be grateful if anyone could help me understand what is wrong and how to fix it. I am pretty handy and really don’t want to spend any more money on fixing this than need be. Thanks for your help.

My SAeco has been cleaned to the best of my ability, having taken apart the brew unit. Still it only dispenses about 2 oz of coffee, no matter the setting, and then stops, and red light comes on. Never brews more than that amount. Reset is , start over, same result.

Saeco Vienna Sup 018: Saeco Vienna Plus will not turn on

My Saeco Vienna Plus is completely dead. No lights, no noise.

I tried different outlets, I tested those outlets, all tested fine. I opened the case, and tested the main fuse, it was fine.

It happened after I did a descaling. I did the required 2 rinses with clean water, during the 2nd rinse, the machine complained, lights flashed, the pump sounded odd, it stopped running. I switched the machine off, waited a couple of minutes, turned the machine back on and it worked fine.

I finished up, cleaned the machine, and moved on.

Later, when I pushed the power button, absolutely nothing happened. No lights no gear sounds, nothing.

Saeco Vienna Sup 018: Saeco Vienna grinds beans but doesn't stop grinding or proceed to brew

First my Saeco is NOT a Sup 018, just a Vienna probably because it is 20+ yrs old. I have determined the grounds are not being dumped from the collector into the brew group because the solenoid is not being activated. However I do not know whether the solenoid is bad or whatever determines there are enough grounds has failed.

What triggers the 'dump-the-shot' action?? is my basic question.

Saeco Vienna Sup 018: No water or liquid came out, only powders in the bin box. help :(

I bought this machine almost 20 yrs ago, I didn't have a chance to use it. I tested it this morning. Firstly, I tried to clean the pipes inside. I followed the instructions from the website, but no liquid came out. I gave up trying; and and then I wanted to let it make a cup of coffee. Then I realized that it would not make any liquid at all!

The water tank was checked, and it was fine. WHERE is the problem? Wrong operation of the cleaning? or I should have a magic spell to wake a "new" machine up? HLEP:((((((((

Saeco Vienna Sup 018: How loosen power cable in vienna plus

Vienna Plus take apart

I saw the excellent description for the Vienna. The Vienna Plus is similar but I cant see how to loosen the power cable so I can remove the innards. The power cable in my 2013 model is locked in with a silver plate with no apparent way to loosen it. Any tip would be appreciated.

Below are three images showing my machine and how the power cable is locked in.

Problem solved: I called saeco service center. My 2013 model has the cable attached to the silver plate and THE PLATE and CABLE come out with the innards. However the other change is that the innards are snapped into the case and has to be released. To do that, there is an open rectangular slot behind and below the brew mechanism. You need to insert a lever and push the insides up from the case untill it is released. Then you can pull it out of the case. (cable and plate come with it). I used a crow bar to release it since it had a curve to get the leverage. Flat screw driver did not work.
