AirPort Extreme A1521: New fan, high pitch noise

I just replaced the fan in my Airport Extreme today. Once i booted up the router, I'm now getting a high pitched noise. When I start the router, it initially doesn't make any noise. I can see the orange light, etc... But, once it starts "initializing", maybe 5 seconds after start, I get a constant high pitched noise. Since it's a brand new fan, I'm wondering if this is coil whine? If so, I don't understand how a new fan could cause this? Anyone have any ideas as to what's up? Or, maybe the new fan is just noisy? It's a sunon fan that i bought off ebay. Curious if anyone has any thoughts based on these symtpoms?

Update (09/23/24)

Doing some more research, I'm reading that sometimes replacement fans do have a high pitched noise. So, it might indeed be the new fan. It looks to be the same brand (Sunon) as the original, so I don't know why there would be noise. Very sad... Past my return period on this fan, too.

Router: Amped Wireless R10000 randomly drops internet connection via wifi

I bought this router a little over a year ago, and now it randomly loses all internet connection via wifi for anywhere between 5 seconds to 2 minutes at a time (the signal itself does not drop) wired connections are not affected. My current internet speed is 100 mbps down/10 up. Router is at this link: https://www.ampedwireless.com/r10000.htm... and it looks like this:

The same thing happened with my old Netgear WNDR3400v3 (which lasted 4 months before i trashed it), I looked at my router admin page and saw duplicates of devices both which the same mac address and name, minus the duplicates there are 16 devices on the entire network, half of them are on the router itself while the other half are on a netgear extender [Model WN3000RPv3] (the router detects the devices on the extender). Is this system that quickly became horribly complicated and ineffective in my house cause this router to stop working properly?

Netgear Router: Netgear CAX30 Cablemodem/router stopped working

I have a 14 month old Netgear CAX30 Cablemodem/router combo that recently locked up. Only the ethernet lights remain lit. All the other light on the front panel are dark (power, LAN, 2.4, 5,g, , etc). I have attempted a reset multiple times, removed the power multiple times for 24+ hours.

When I plug the power back in, all that happens is the white ethernet lights (1-4) come on (even if nothing is plugged in) but nothing else happens. It does not go through a startup routine and it is not broadcasting a default wifi. I cannot access the unit via the ip address and it does not register with Spectrum (cable provider)

Is this unit "bricked" or is it repairable/recoverable?

Thank you for your input

I am having trouble with my TP-link range extender. I use it in access point mode and my laptop has a lot of trouble connecting to it wirelessly. The odd thing is that my phone connects to it without a hitch.

Sometimes my laptop connects to it in one go, sometimes it needs 20 attempts until it finally connects. I am wondering what I can do about it.

Router: Port Forwarding Is Not Working on an Xfinity xFi Gateway

First of all, I know that there have been many posts about this problem before, but from my research, there hasn't ever been a clear answer to it. Second, I have never had this problem before until I had received a new xFi router from Xfinity after I needed a network switch replaced. Xfinity said it was a free upgrade, and that the new router brought security enhancements and performance increases. At the time, I didn't really see any harm in upgrading it as it was free, but I was wrong. And finally, thank you in advance, as I know this is a very annoying issue that many people have been having since Xfinity rolled out the new xFi routers alongside a firmware update.

Yesterday, I was finishing setting up a locally-hosted Minecraft server that my friends and I would play on. I have successfully done this on past networks, and I even followed an official Minecraft wiki guide. However, when I went to port forward the server's IP address, I noticed that you could no longer do so through the xFi router's administrator page (10.0.0.1). It said I needed to do so through the xFi website, so I did and it seemed simple enough. Unfortunately, after port forwarding the server, no one outside of my home network could join. They kept getting errors that said the authentication servers were down or that the network was unreachable. There was nothing wrong with the server itself, as I could join it from another computer on my network. I left Minecraft's default port number as it is (25565), and I even manually tried inputing it into the xFi website instead of using the preset Minecraft option. I had previously disabled the advanced security option and was not using a static IP address per Xfinity's recommendation when I tried this.

Also, is there a way that I could use port triggering instead of port forwarding on my Xfinity xFi router? Port triggering is still available through the router's administrative log-in page, and I was wondering if it would still work in a similar way to port forwarding so that I can bypass the issues with port forwarding altogether.

I have looked at countless other blog posts and wikis on this issue, but none of them really had a clear solution to the problem. If any of you have gotten around it, please let me know and all help is appreciated.

On the attached image, you can see that the bottom has engaged the white tab and is being held in place, red arrows. But on the top, blue arrow, the switch just will not snap under the tab.
