Ring Doorbell 2: My device is no longer charging via transformer

My ring doorbell 2(bought second hand) has recently stopped recognising as being hardwired so I have to charge the battery every few weeks.

the transformer is rated at 24v AC 3A(72vA) and I am still reading 24v AC at the terminations when powered up so the transformer is working as expected.

I can only assume something has gone wrong internally but obviously the device is outside of any warranty so it’ll be down to me to fix or repair.

I have a ring doorbell for my garden to look at the wildlife. Last night a fox it it into a pot of water and it sat there for 7 hours. Took it out and took it apart to dry it up (trust me, it works) and it turned on! Just one thing: when the doorbell button is clicked, it doesn’t make the noise and it doesn’t connect to my WiFi.

Ring Doorbell 2: The ring doorbell detects motion but does not notify unless at door.

Hi, my husband and I have had issues with three ring doorbells ( 2 wired doorbell and one ring pro 2) detecting motion at a distance but not alerting of motion unless someone is right at the door. We have contacted customer service but they have been unable to help. Looking to see if anyone has input.

Can the Doorbell 2 be reprogrammed to have live view on, but not record unless motion is detected?

I want to monitor my space but only record video when someone or thing enters my detection zone.

Can not register device, the light never spins when depressing button in the set up process, battery is fully charged and wired up to house door bell wiring. I have performed a reset but it still is not working.

Ring Doorbell 2: Extend the length of the camera wires

Would adding length to the camera wires mess with the functionality? There is a project that I am working on that would require the camera to be further away from the device than in just the housing. Is this possible? Thanks!

Ring Doorbell 2: Howto trigger Button from outside

How can I trigger the button e.g. with a small reed relais? D I need to disassemble the complete device to solder the reed relais parallel to the push button or can this be accomplished from outside?

I would like to use the Doorbell device with existing ring button panel just as a camera and talk to the visitor device. I plan to trigger it with the existing buttons (that trigger sound modules for different buttons) and also would like to attach a small amp to use a bigger speaker. I want to put an extra enclosure (3d printed) around the device.

I have a ring doorbell 2 and instead of charging it every time and removing the battery. I bought a power adapter and plugged it into the device but it won't charge.
