Craftsman Riding Mower: Craftsman DLT3000 Blades not fully disengaging

2005 Craftsman DLT3000

Tried all I could think of ... new springs. New brake arms, new engagement cable and checked and smoothed the engagement plate which was barely notched. The engagement plate is moving fine and brakes are engaging.

If the deck is lowered all the way and I engage the blades, then disengage them, they will stop spinning after a few seconds but if I then raise the deck, the blades will re-engage on their own. The same if I try to disengage the blades (via lever) while deck is in a higher position than 1; they will not disengage. The higher the deck level the more they will engage.

They do not appear to be fully engaged, as there is a kind of grinding crunching noise and the smell of the belt burning.

Any ideas would be super appreciated!

Craftsman Riding Mower: Carburetor spitting gas - have already replaced Carb!

Hello all...

Well, after weeks of trying different things, I finally coughed up the cash to get a replacement carb and I have the same issue after I cleaned it. Here's the background:

- This is an 18 y/o Craftsmand 19.5 riding mower

- Problem started with coughing carb, no power

- Replaced air and fuel filters and plugs (while I was out, changed Oil as well)

- Same issue; low power, coughing

- Took carb off and cleaned thoroughly; all jets clear, gaskets were old (never replaced)

- Started well, but gas vapor through top of carb. Engine would choke and die when i put Air filter and associated housing on

- Took back apart and tried again. When Mower was driven under load, engine would sputter and die after a few minutes

- Bought the appropriate repair kit. Replaced all gaskets, needle, valve, etc. Same exact issue with no improvement

- I finally bought the entire carb and put it on today. Same exact problem.

Seems like there is too much air and its spraying the gas out the top? I really don't know what to look at this point. There aren't alot of options to adjust air/fuel on this. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

Craftsman Riding Mower: Craftsman T110 Riding Mower - Clutch WAY too sensitive!

Craftsman T110 Riding Mower - Let's say that when the brake-clutch pedal is depressed all the way, that's position "1"; and when it is released all the way (you take your foot off of it), let's call that position "10." When you are releasing the brake-clutch pedal, it goes to about position "8" without having any effect - nothing happens. Then from position "8" to "9" is ALL of the effect of the clutch. In other words, it's hard to keep it from jerking forward because all of the effectiveness of the clutch happens within the top half inch or so of the travel of the clutch. Is that adjustable to smooth it out?
