ROG Strix G15 G512LI: Laptop not turning on

Strix g15 ryzen 7 4800h and GTX 1650 ti

The laptop is not turning on , the power indicator does not light up even if charging . The laptop flashes the power light for a brief second at the moment the power is connected and goes dim again ...

Sometime i just let it sit for 4-6 hrs and it generally starts to work again , the laptop is currently not turning on

I have tried unpluging the laptop and holding the power button for a minute or two , and when i connect the charger and try to start it the power light just flashes and the laptop does not turn on .. please help

I have also tried the hard reset when the battery is removed ...

I have look at the forum for any possibile solution .. i have also replaced the motherboard but the same problem persists ...

Any suggestion pls

I'm having the same issue. Laptop was fine and running. Went to the bathroom and when I came back it was turned off and has 0 signs of life. I've read online something about replacing CMOS battery but I'm unable to figure out exactly where it is. I have disconnected battery, held down power button for 1 minute and it's still behaving this way. No obvious signs of damage on MOBO. Doesn't even recognize when I plug it into power.

ROG Strix G15 G512LI: PC won't turn on with or without charger, battery lamp blinking white

Hello guys, I'm having the same problem with my 3 year old ASUS ROG Strix G15 model. The only difference is my laptop charges after a hard reset and does NOT crash or shutdown suddenly.

If I don't do the hard reset, the battery indicator is blinking white 3 times, pause and then again blink 3 times either on battery or plugged into charge. Along with this problem, when the battery light is blinking white, my screen is black and doesn't work. It's always these 2 problems together. (I know the Laptop is alive because fans, keyboard light and external mouse lights are working)

After doing the hard reset (30 seconds) everything is back to normal.

Please let me know if anyone found why this issue is happening or what may have been the reason.

ROG Strix G15 G512LI: My laptop is making a weird scratching noise...

My laptop suddenly started producing a scratching noise and as a result I decided to turn it off. Now, it replays the "Republic of Gamers" animation over and over again when I try to turn it on. I had a feeling the scratching noise was the HDD but would the HDD cause the computer to break completely? (for reference, I've had the computer for half a year)

so ive had this problem for a while but i ufnored it and its kinda getting worse .

when i wanna change the angle of the monitor it starts flickering and when its in a fixed position its fine i think its the ribbon cable that goes through the hinge but i dont have warranty and if it only needs a blow for dust or readjusting the connector i dont wanna pay extra for that ( i also dont trust the repair shops in my area with this laptop). so is there gonna be any problem if i open the laptop myself watching a yt video or am i gonna mess it up cus im kinda inexperienced?

Hello. I got an Asus G512L which doesn't start, from a day to another. I manage to make some measurements on the mother board and got to a an IC ( AYK M16 879 ) witch has 19V on the one of the pins ( i assume is the input ), no voltage on the output coil ( output to gnd = 36.3ohm) and 3,3V on one of the pins ( i assume is the enable pin for the IC). Based on all this investigation, without any datasheet of the IC, i think that the IC (AYK M16 879) is dead. Does anyone has any idea what this IC is ? I put also some pictures with the IC.

ROG Strix G15 G512LI: Screen went totally black

I got flickering in my screen and I powered off normally. When I opened back the screen was full of stripes. Rebooting once the screen went full black. I thought the display was the issue and tried changing it but no good even the ASUS authorised service centre said no issues in display screen.

By digging deep they said something went wrong and I need to replace the mother board. Is there any way to fix this

On the good part I can connect to external monitor by this way I can use my laptop

My touchpad is not working properly its like the mouse button is always clicked when i turn on the touchpad.so i want to replace it so how much does it cost?

And some keyboard button have problem like my number 2 button doesn't work but it works when i press it with any button pressed along with it - if i keep caps-lock and press 2 it does give 2 like that if i press shift and press 2 it gives the '@' symbol. So the key doesn't work if it is pressed alone but works when multiple key is pressed.

Last night, we had a meeting at a restaurant. My laptop was working fine with no issues/no problem at all, but there was no outlet available, so my laptop’s battery drained and turned off. When I got home, I plugged in my laptop to charge, but I noticed that the charging light didn’t turn on. I left it for an hour, then came back and plugged in the charger again. This time, the charging light turned on, but when I pressed the power button, it turned off again. 😢 is there someone experience of what i experience??

This is a recent incident. To be precise, it happened on June 11. After doing Shift + Click Shutdown, I clicked the power button the next morning. It didn't open and I plugged the charger and checked the indicators. It didn't show a red light (as the usual charging indicator). I looked at some solutions around the web. However, I couldn't fix the same problem so I figured out how to open the laptop and reconnect the battery. At first, it works then after shutting down again. I had to open up the laptop and reconnect the battery. I also looked for another way to open it by holding the power button for a minute and then pressing it again. It turns on.

This is my first time encountering the problem. I do not know the actual cause but I bought a brand-new charger with the adapter online and I'm currently using it and the same model from the older charger. But then, I've been using it for a few days. I'm guessing this might be the problem.

I need some advice on how to fix this problem. I'm considering buying a new battery for the laptop.

I used a Honeywell PTM7950 to resolve the overheating issue of this laptop and it's been 3 years since using the said phase change material.

ROG Strix G15 G512LI: My screen doesnt turn on after diassembling and cleaning laptop

Hey there

I opened up my G512 LV to clean it up and change the silicons of it and add an extra ssd. After puting everything back together carefully and reassembled it the screen is not turning on … its dimmed and I can see something of windows by puting light on lcd.

Everything is fine with external display.

Every part of laptop ( battrey, ram, cpu Etc ) works fine.

But there is no luck with Built in display its just dimmed or better to say blacked out.

I also switched rams and reconnected the lcd cable to motherboard serveral times and no luck also tried hard reset and win + ctrl + shift + n.

I even tried electrisity discharge of mother board ( took off battrey and no adapter then holded power for 30sec ).

Majority of the time, my laptop should be plugged into charge when powering it on or the screen is just black and sometimes even when its plugged in, the screen still remains black. I must connect the charger and then do a hard reset by holding the power button for 30 seconds and then it works. After the hard reset is done, if I unplug the charger, the laptop will work properly. (Not compulsory to be plugged into charge the whole day)

When my screen is black and sometimes even after the hard reset and the laptop starts working, the battery charging light is blinking in white. (Plugged in or on battery)3 blinks, a 4 second pause and then again 3 white blinks and that keeps looping

Another thing is that this problem with the screen not switching on is a one in a while thing. Not everyday and not every week

For example:

I shut down my laptop just now while on battery and let it sit for 5 minutes, plugged it into charge (Orange battery charging light - No issues) and then powered on the laptop and the screen shows up. No issues at all & everything is functioning the way it should

Laptop spec: ASUS ROG Strix G15, i7-10750H, GTX 1660Ti, 1TB Nvme PCIe M.2 SSD, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 Home

I'm pretty concerned about this issue as it doesn't look right and I'd really appreciate any feedback I can receive on this matter.
