I know there’s no choke for this pressure washer. But I’ve used a bit of gas as starting fluid in the intake and filled the gas tank, but the engine dies after starting for a few seconds. The engine hasn’t ran for over a year. I’ve cleaned the carb and replaced the fuel lines from the gas tank. The bowl on the carb does fill with gas. I do need to replace the air filter foam and the carb bowl bolt gasket as it drips a bit of gas, but I’d think it’s run with those issues. Any tips?

I bought a used pressure washer that had a host of issues and I think I'm close to getting it running right. Here's what's been done so far.

Cleared blockage in Nozzle, cleaned carb (2x), replaced spark plug, fuel cap cleaned, air filter good, fuel lines and filter clear, replaced unloader, had to cut the inlet connector off as it was corroded to the hose and replaced, checked for intake leaks and all looks good.

Im still having an issue where with the choke on, I can hear the engine cycling. The water pressure builds and I can see the unloader move and unload pressure. When pulling the trigger with choke on, constant, albeit lower pressure and cycling stops. When put into run, the engine surges, backfires, and/or stalls out completely. Im not sure what else I can check other than replacing the carburator all together or replacing check valves in the pump. Maybe the unloader isn't set right? Hopefully this is repairable and I can get it running at 100% with your help

I bought a pressure washer 4 months ago when they went on sale at Sam's Club. It's a Troy Bilt 3400 psi 2.3 GPM gas model, model number TB3400PWXP. I finally went to use it for the first time today and it is not making pressure. It fired right up, I made sure the pump was primed first, then started it, and it makes no pressure. The stream of water coming out of the nozzle is the same if the engine is running or not. What is the most likely cause?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on cleaning driveways, decks, and patios with my pressure washer but I’m not getting the best results.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Standard pressure-washing (2000–3000 PSI) with detergents
Letting surfaces air-dry overnight
Multiple passes with different nozzle angles

Still, some stains refuse to come off.

So I’d like to ask:

Do you adjust PSI or nozzle type depending on the surface or how old the stains are?
Any tips on prepping surfaces—like grit, cleaning solutions, or methods—that make pressure washing more effective without damaging the surface?

Ryobi Pressure Washer RY14122 2013: Removing hose from spray gun and pump housing

How do you remove the spray hose from the spray gun and the pump housing? Rubber gaskets seem to be frozen on place. I don't what to force it and possibly damage something. I'm missing something.

Hi my Karcher K4 full control pressure washer will not start. its an 1800w. I have removed the hose and let water run through for 5 minutes in case of air lock, and also changed the 13 amp plug but it still wont start. It's 4 years old.

Honda GCV 160 Black Max BM80913 Power Washer wasn’t drawing soap… I took off the line to check for blockage, none found so reattached the line. Now, when I turn on the water and start the engine, water is forced back through the soap line & blows the cap off the reservoir, then the line off the pump fitting, and what doesn’t make it through the hose & wand continues to spew all over from the fitting.

Anyone have some insight as to what has caused this to occur?? I’m thinking disassembling the pump is not recommended given my lack of knowledge regarding these units. Any guidance will be very much appreciated!
