PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller: for stick drift, why might desoldering pins help stop stick drift?

As stated in the title, why would desoldering controller pins help remove stick drift?

I was helping a friend fix his pro controller, and I tried to replace the sticks themselves. I gave up when I could not desolder the pins.

However, it turns out that was enough to remove stick drift. Hasn't had an issue for months.

I'm just not sure how that would help and wanted to brainstorm ideas. Did anyone else try something like this? Thanks!

PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller: Y axis not working after replacement

Hello Everyone,

I recently replaced the joysticks on my Power A switch Controller because of drift. It fixed the drift and the sticks felt like new, but the y axis on the right joystick no longer responds. I thought maybe it was a defective joystick and replaced it with another one and the same problem is present. I thought maybe I might have desolderd one of those tiny resistors but have no way of verifying. I’ve seen on other posts that the y axis pins weren’t getting power on a Wii U controller and they bridged one of the pins to another power source and it worked. Does anyone know if there is a similar way to do this on the power A controllers?

PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller: Wireless fusion pro for nintendo switch joystick swap

Hello, I have a licensed nintendo switch controller, particularly the one made by Power A named ''wireless fusion pro controller for nintendo switch. The thing is that while I was swapping the right joystick I accidentally messed up the traces on the pcb. I am trying to solder a small jumper wire to fix the problem but I cannot see where the trace is heading. The question is does anybody knows where and if I can find a part of the electronic schematics so that I can pinpoint the location for a possible jumper wire fix? To be more precise, the damaged trace is the signal for the vertical axis of the right joystick. I know already that this is hard and I appreciate in advance any pointers that you could tell me
