I found an old Polaroid i835 that I'm trying to fix up for an upcoming outing. Everything looks good upon inspection, until I looked inside the battery port.

It seems the old batteries inside it hadn't been taken out and so it corroded the metal bit on the lid and the end deep inside the camera.

As of now, I'm trying to clean most if not all of it off, but I'm wondering if there's a way to replace the metallic bits / battery port or is it better to replace the entire camera altogether?
