Polaroid i533: Will it still work?

My zoom lens stopped working a while back and I never looked into it. The camera still turned on jus wouldn't take pictures because the zoom portion wouldn't work. I was going to look into it and see if I could get it to work but when I tried to turn it on it didn't work so I went to check the batteries and they were corroded. (Not sure if I spelt that right but when they leak fluid or whatever and it gets all crusty.) Now with new batteries it won't even turn on. So is it worth trying to fix it or no?
