Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: My Polaroid Sun 600 LMS camera will not charge?

I put the brand-spankin'-new film pack into it, and the camera seemed happy (it spit out the dark slide like it was supposed to, and when I held down the trigger half-way to charge the camera, the red light came on to indicate that it was working). However, after waiting the allotted time, the red light never changed to green, and the camera has not flashed once upon fully pulling the trigger. It hasn't even spit out a blank image.

According to my research, I should be able to hear it charging, but I hear nothing despite clearly seeing the red light indicator. I've attempted to take photos in various lighting situations, all indoors, sometimes with natural light and sometimes with electric, all to no avail. It isn't an issue of temperature. It isn't an issue of distance.

Clearly, there is power, and clearly my camera receives this power to a certain extent, but it isn't flashing, and it isn't actually capturing any images. It's like it's trying to send the power to it, but halfway there it hits a wall.

Can anyone tell me what I should do? If it's a bust, that's fine, but I got my camera for a very good deal, so if I could simply replace a part rather than replacing it entirely, that would make my life. No one else seems to have had this problem that I can tell from mere Internet searching. I'm rather attached to the little guy in spite of the fact that he doesn't seem to have actually ever taken a photo.

I have wanted to own a polaroid since I was a little girl, and everything was going so well (until the fire nation attacked). Any advice would be welcome!

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: Why won't the film come out?

When I tried to take a photo, no film came out. The capturing process seemed to have worked, as there were typical mechanical noises to be heard as I took the photo, but other than that nothing else happened. I know it's not the film's fault, it was brand new. How do I fix this?

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: Why do all my photos come out in tones of blue/purple?

I've tried multiple film packs so it's definitely the camera. All the photos come out in weird blue/white hues. Almost like monotone but not quite. You can still see most of the images so it's still useable just about, but it's a weird feature I'd like to fix.

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: Camera no longer being powered by battery? can't take photos anymore.

My grandma handed me her Polaroid sun 600 LMS and I ordered film for it. It seemed to work fine for the first couple of days. Then I took it out with a friend for a day and after coming back it doesn’t seem like it has any power anymore. I had only gone through half of the film when this problem started. Idk if the heat of the day drained the battery or affected it somehow. I just wanna know what I can do to fix it. I also have another film packet, should I just take out the old one and see if the camera still works with the new packet?

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: What caused this spread failure?

I picked up a pack of the new Polaroid 600 film for my Sun600 LMS since I do not know how long he has left, but I know my time is limited. While I'll live with the spread issue as it only one bad photo (plus you know, the flaw is unique) the others are fine. This camera has been around for like 2-3 generations so it's not new, but it's proven itself since it's survived under my use and my grampa. If anything it's a testament to how long lived the old 600 land cameras are, even if the film is more expensive because it can't use i-type like Polaroid Now.

Could this have been due to the fact the camera hasn't been used since they stopped making the original film and I didn't use it at all during the original Impossible Project era due to cost and batch improvements? It seems like now that I put a Polaroid Originals pack in there with the current Impossible Project formula, the camera just needed to be exercised again.

Yes, I did consider grabbing a few "expired" packs of the original formula from the old Polaroid but it's way too expensive and risky.

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: No photo, No red LED

Similar to this post, putting in a new film pack will spit out the top card, and everything sounds fine, but pressing the button to take a photo does nothing. However, unlike that post, I don't have a red "charging" light come on; I've searched all over the device, and inside the view finder, but I haven't seen a red light anywhere.

I have looked here and here and tried this stuff, but neither have helped me.

I HAVE gotten this to reliably take and print out photos, but only if the lens assembly is fully closed; even a slight lift will cause it to not work. Which does nothing, as with the lens assembly closed, the lens is blocked and just takes a photo of the inside of the unit.

The film pack was manufactured by Polaroid June 2024, and I'm using this in October 2024. Battery voltage is 5.84V, which should be more than good enough for a 6V system
