Polaroid i835: Corrosion in the Battery Port and Lid

Hello!

I found an old Polaroid i835 that I'm trying to fix up for an upcoming outing. Everything looks good upon inspection, until I looked inside the battery port.

It seems the old batteries inside it hadn't been taken out and so it corroded the metal bit on the lid and the end deep inside the camera.

As of now, I'm trying to clean most if not all of it off, but I'm wondering if there's a way to replace the metallic bits / battery port or is it better to replace the entire camera altogether?

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: Why won't the film come out?

When I tried to take a photo, no film came out. The capturing process seemed to have worked, as there were typical mechanical noises to be heard as I took the photo, but other than that nothing else happened. I know it's not the film's fault, it was brand new. How do I fix this?

Polaroid Camera: Polaroid Snap Touch Firmware Corrupt

Hi,

I bought a Polaroid Snap Touch 1.0 from Zinc (second hand at a pawnshop). After updating the firmware, it got corrupted and all the menus are either invisable or show garbled data as the menu/option buttons (hexadecimal). I tried updating manually via the firmware zip and an sd card, but it either does the same thing or says s/w update failed.

What are my options? I have a CH341A programmer if someone can point out the flash chip. I can dissemble it as well to post picture of the device and mainboard.

Polaroid Sun 600 LMS: No photo, No red LED

Similar to this post, putting in a new film pack will spit out the top card, and everything sounds fine, but pressing the button to take a photo does nothing. However, unlike that post, I don't have a red "charging" light come on; I've searched all over the device, and inside the view finder, but I haven't seen a red light anywhere.

I have looked here and here and tried this stuff, but neither have helped me.

I HAVE gotten this to reliably take and print out photos, but only if the lens assembly is fully closed; even a slight lift will cause it to not work. Which does nothing, as with the lens assembly closed, the lens is blocked and just takes a photo of the inside of the unit.

The film pack was manufactured by Polaroid June 2024, and I'm using this in October 2024. Battery voltage is 5.84V, which should be more than good enough for a 6V system
