DualShock 4 CHU-ZCT2U Generation 4: L3 behaving wild after TMR stick update

Hi, I've been in the journey of changing the old sticks from my DS4 to Gulikit TMR ones, because of drift.

All went smooth, my controller works, but L3 is behaving very weird:

It clicks itself when I move the left stick on the left, also when I click it, the click input stays on for more than half a second. This half second is also the same time - more or less - the input lasts when I rotate the stick on the left, here's a video of what happens:

Right stick is flawless.

Calibration went well and all, but I really can't find the cause of this, my soldering was not the best but I've checked multiple times the pins and I don't see any bridge:

I'd really like to avoid desolder and resolder everything, are there some specific pins I should check?

DualSense Controller V3: Controller turns off by itself after repair

I installed hall sensors in my controller because of stick drift,
it worked fine for the first gaming session for about 2-3 hours with no issues.

next day I wanted to use the controller, it turned off after 1-2 sec, and there could be up to 5 min´s before I could "try" to use it again with the same result. a few times it worked for about 20 sec and I could confirm that the ps5 says the battery on the controller is full, and no charge light comes up when connected to the ps5.

my ps5 at some point got fed up with me trying to reconnect the faulty controller that it wanted to restart and do some kind of repair which took under a sek, and I was not able to read it.

same story with hardware tester usbwired to a pc, it would show up for about a sec. and then disappear. and then randomly show up at different intervals for the same 1 sek.

what would make it do this ?

DualShock 2: Replacement DPad and Brace?

I recently obtained a PS2 with three controllers that all work, except for dpad issues. Upon opening them, I have found that they ALL have cracked DPads and/or DPad braces. I have no idea what they were playing/doing, but the controllers are all otherwise perfect after a deep cleaning.

Can anyone recommend a retailer/manufacturer that can sell me replacements for the DPad and the DPad brace? One would think that places selling the DPad would also understand that the brace behind it is likely to break too...

DualShock 4: PS4 controller not working after replacing battery

I replaced the battery on my PS4 controller. I followed directions online but did a $@$*!& job and broke a bunch of clips, but it still holds together with all the screw in.

The PS button wasn't working so I did a reset with the little button on the back, then it paired. I'm at the user select screen. Analog stick works but d-pad does nothing (not sure if it should do anything here). X and O (only options given for keypresses on that screen) do not work at all. What could I have messed up here?

DualSense: Controller LED blinking blue but won't work properly

Hi, first time soldering. I just replaced my potentiometer sticks with Gulikit TMR sticks. After I reassembled it, it started blinking without me turning it on.

The buttons don't work and my pc won't detect it wired. Even if I connect it wired, it doesn't charge, LED doesn't turn orange. Pressing or holding the power button doesn't do anything, it just keeps blinking blue like in the video above.

Here's some pictures inside, did I mess up somewhere? Any help is appreciated.

DualSense: PS5 Dualsense does not work on battery

Hi,

I’m having a problem with a PS5 DualSense controller that stops working when running on battery power. I’ve tried two known-working batteries from another controller, and both work fine in the other controller.

I’ve taken measurements at the battery connector, and it reaches around 4.1–4.2V. I also tried a battery charged to approximately 50%; its voltage increased from around 3.8V to 4.1V, so it appears to be charging correctly.

The controller works perfectly fine when connected via USB cable, but it won’t operate from the battery.

I’ve also tried replacing the DA9087, but nothing has changed.

I've been having an issue where the controller will blink white lights whenever it is charging, turned on, or attempts to pair with a device. The controller itself is unusable in this state. I've attempted to fix this by taking out and cleaning the joystick modules, resetting the controller with the button on the back, and directly wiring the controller to a device and resetting it.
DualSense Controller v2: Why are both my R2 and L2 button not working?

Hi! I recently found 2 PS5 controllers at a recycling point and one of them worked just fine, aside from a little joystick jitter which isn't a big issue because it doesn't affect any games.

The second one however also has joystick jitter, but worse than that: both the R2 and L2 buttons don't work at all! I tested them in Gamepad Tester and both give 0% input when I press them. Because both triggers fail at the same time, I suspect it isn't a problem with the conductive pads, but I am not sure. I already checked and re-seated the cables, but that didn't change anything.

Anyone got an idea of what could be the problem? And maybe a quick fix for the joystick jitter? :)

DualSense Edge: Finding replacement 6-pin ribbon cables for the DualSense Edge

Hello iFixit members!

I'm asking a question: where I can get the replacement 6-pin ribbon cable for my DualSense Edge? I had accidentally damaged the cable during reassembly, and I need the replacement ribbon cable real quick.

It has to be within the exact specification:

6-pin

0.5mm pitch, which is the same as the trigger ribbon cable

3.8 to 4 cm in length. The reason why it has to be in this specific length is because if it's too long, it will push against the back shell of the controller, and if it's too short and the cable won't reach either the mainboard connector or the sub boards (which contains both the back buttons and the relays to the rumble motor)

Conductors has to be on the same side.

I can't find the exact cable on e-commerce stores Aliexpress, hence why I asked for help here,

Update 1: Here's the picture of the cable in question:

Update 2 (July 16, 2026): My order at Kasynparts (https://kasynparts.com/product/ps5-duals...) had arrived today...only to find out that it's the 50mm cables (which is way too long to be fit into the controller). I have to place an order at an Aliexpress shop (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10050124...) and is currently wait to see if the shop does actually sell the 40mm cable.

Update 3 (July 29, 2026): my order from Cloukeu IC components Store on Aliexpress has arrived and it fit just right for the DualSense Edge (despite having a little bit shorter blue tap)! With that, the controller is finally fixed!
