I am stuck on this screen. I have tried four different cables, went out and bought a new one, three different controllers, tried the reset button, clearing the cache, but it will not connect. The USB port works because it charges my phone when I plug it in. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

PlayStation 4 Slim: PS4 Turning Off Randomly!

I’ve had my PS4 Slim for nearly a year and a half now. A month ago, my PS4 started turning off randomly during games and even while it was doing nothing. I thought it might be dust(which there was a lot of) and cleaned it….tried the whole initialising process and also rebuilding database solutions. Sometimes I can play for an hour and sometimes it switch off within 5 minutes.Whenever it switches off, I cant instantly turn it on. I need to remove the plug and put it back on for it to power on. What could be the problem? Really need help. Thank you. :)

PlayStation 4 Slim: Help with PS4 slim Blue light of dead troubleshooting

Hi community, I am needing some of your wisdom.

As a hobby I started to fix some things a couple of month ago. Now I was feeling ready for something more complicated but I think I went too far 😔.

I have a PS4 slim with the board SAE 004 and she have the following sinthoms:

1- blue light of dead that blinks for 55 seconds before console turn off. The fan just run for 1 second and the usb ports never gets any power then stop and the HD spins during the 55 sec.

2- once is off if I try to turn it on again it makes a beep an nothing happens. Then I need to wait 5 seconds and try again and it happen what is described in point 1.

What I made so far?

1- I tried to start it in safe mode (holding 7 seconds the power button) but it didn't went into safe mode neither make a beep.

2- I tested the power supply and is sending 12 v and tested another power cord.

3- I checked the pins of the plug where the cable coming from the power supply connects and seems ok in order the 4 pins gave me 5v, nothing, ground, 5v.

4- I put a washer below the GPU clamp.

5- I tried other HDMI cable.

6- I changed the Hard drive.

7- I have tested with no hardrive.

8- I measured the biases behind the ram all with the right homs. 0.6 and 1.6 KH as was shown in a YouTube video

I am stuck and I don't know what else to do because even if I measure all the components I don't know what value the components should have.

I am open to ideas to keep troubleshooting.

Thanks!

UPDATE 05-07-2023

Hi guys, sorry for been inactive but I had no time to keep working on the PS4. But now I have some news, unfortunately not very good.

So I kept searching and measuring and I found the following.

So all the components highlighted on the image are biping on my multimeter. I have included the ohms info I am getting so either are components with very low resistance or are shorted but I have no idea how to proceed seems very unlikly that all that components are really shorted but also I can't find a one component connected to all of them.

On top of this I tried to made a UART reading but also I am having some complications here... I made all the steps to patch the NOR and all went great. Now with the NOR installed back in the console and the cables connected to the right points on the motherboard and on the CH341A I am getting no reading. I tried Putty and UART reader software but I am not getting any readings ans still the console is doing the same 55 sec BLOD.

I turned the UART on before continuing with the process and of course patch the NOR.

Any Clue?

PlayStation 4 Slim: Water damage on my PS4 Slim

Hi, so my PS4 had a glass of water spilled on it. I unplugged everything and let it sit for a little over a day and just plugged it in and booted it up. The system starts, i can get to my menu and start playing games but about 5-10 minutes into playing, i get the "PS4 is too hot" message. Is my console done for or is there a solution to this? I haven't seen any other thread similar to this. I have a fan blowing onto the console and that seems to help for a couple more minutes.

Edit: After I cleaned the fan, I booted up the console to see that the fan was not spinning at all.

Thanks

Hello, I have had problems with my PS4 Slim disc drive not taking in discs for a while now.

It happened when i someday noticed there was a disc still in my playstation but it didn't read it nor would it eject it. So i used the manual ejection screw to get it out.

From then onwards the Playstation would not let me insert discs anymore. Even if i manually unscrew everything and put in a disc into the drive, it wont read it when the Playstation is booted up.

I have watched numerous videos and read articles on this, other forum posts including but nothing seems to work.

However there's a couple of things I've noticed looking at other people's drives and just trying out things with mine that seem a bit suspicious.

1.

There's white geerwheels on the left, which the left roller in the front is connected to aswell. Those seem to be completely stuck because the one second to the front one (the front one is the one attached to the left roller) does not want to move.

2.

The big white plastic thing on the left is completely immovable, which seems weird because there seems to be a spring attached to it??

3.

There's somewhat of a white lever? attached to the white plastic thing, it looks somewhat like a half circle. (It's positioned in the back to the left)

This thing, what i assume to be some kind of a lever is completely immovable, probably because the white plastic part on the left is aswell, however mine seems to be in a different position than others that ive seen are in? Its pulled somewhat towards the back, so it makes a disc fit in, so i assume this lever gets pushed back when a disc is inserted, however there is none inserted.

I hope anyone can help, thanks in advance!

PlayStation 4 Slim: PS4 Slim - SAD-002 board - No Power

Got a PS4 Slim - motherboard model SAD-002 with no power after a possible lightning strike. No beeps, no lights, nothing. Completely dead.

I have done some initial troubleshooting and repair attempts but have gotten stuck. Looking for some direction on where to go from here.

So far, I have replaced power supply with a known and tested good power supply. When the new power supply is connected to the system, the +5V rails are present on the power connector. Pressing the power button has no effect, but shorting 5V with ACDC_STBY at the connector does produce 11.82V on the 12V rail for a few seconds. The fan does a partial spin, and then the voltage slowly drops. This process can be repeated over and over.

The 12V rail doesn’t appear to be shorted at least by measuring at the 2 pin power connector that supplies 12v. Without schematics, I am forced to trace out the 12V rail to find the faulty component and this is where I am stuck.

I can trace out the 12V rail to a point where the voltage disappears. There is a clear line in the components where the 12V rail vanishes to 0v. I have roughly drew this line out in the attached image. The red markings indicate 12V present and the blue markings indicate 0v where one would believe 12v should continue. I am not sure which component(s) are at fault. I tried to find the datasheets on some of the ICs, but didn’t come up with anything after searching the number printed on the IC.

Can anyone give some insight as to what might be wrong or something to check for? Thanks.

EDIT: I did confirm the fuses and coils to be alright at least.

PlayStation 4 Slim: Can I use PS4 Original's F6202 as a donor to faulty F6202 on PS4 Slim?

I recently started repairs and bought a broken PS4 Original that had I found out has liquid damage on some parts of the board and I will now use it as a donor board for the good parts.

After that I bought a PS4 Slim and I think the F6202 fuse is blown. Can I replace it with the one of the PS4 Original? Are they the same spec?

so the PS4 Slim in question has sat in a entertainment center for about 4 years. Oh, and the doors are glass, so it attracts dust like crazy and has dirt and dust in every single port, around every button, and every else it could get in.

im like kinda scared of how its internals might look....
