When I plug it in there are no lights but when I press the power button the red power standby light comes on. I press it again and the green light comes on, out lights on power and disk buttons come on, and the fan runs for a sec then it shuts down with all lights out.

I tried holding the power button in to check the video output and try to reset but it shuts down after a sec. It only beeps once when I first press the power button.

The problem is that when I press the PS Button to turn it on, the LED goes green, and in a few seconds it beeps rapidly, then turns red, and then blinks red. I don't know what is wrong. I might just call Sony, but I want to know what is wrong with it first.

At times we can get it to come on and stay on for a length of time that is random as well. Other times we can push the button 100 times and it will not come on and stay on. We have opened it and cleaned it and watched what happened when we turned it on. The fan turns on and doesn't make any strange noises or anything, but within a few seconds it shuts itself off completely again. We are getting very discouraged. We have been to several blogs and youtube videos without any real solutions. If it is the power source how do we check it out to be sure that is what it is? We don't want to try and replace functional parts and potentially cause more issues. PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm receiving the error 80010017 in my almost new PS3 slim. Everything appears Ok but when I try to play any game I allways receive the error message.

I found in the following link, details and video that describe the error but never got an answer.

I have a real problem with my ps3 slim

the problem is : my ps3 work in 220v and I in the U.S and U.S only have 110v so my ps3 wont work only if I use a converter . the converter overheat every hour and turn off automatically and after on hour later it work again . I tried to buy another converter but all of them the same (will turn off) I play ps3 more than 6 hour a day and these converter want me get killed by not working ...

can you please tell me if I can buy a 110v power supply and change my 220v power supply and where I can get it plz .. and if I can't can you tell me about a converter that work more than 5 hours or any good converter beside the one I have ?

My TV is a Sharp Flat Screen with 1080p. I have my own PS3 that was also bought used and it worked with the TV. I never had any problems with my PS3 and the hdmi, however the one that my mom bought doesnt seem to connect.

Things i have tried:

· Resetting with the power button

· Switched the hdmi cables from my PS3 to the current ps3 my mom bought.

· Unplugging the TV and turning it back on

· Changing the ends of the HDMI cords.

The part is off center and down, and even when I put in a disc it will not move up like it should. I couldn't find anything wrong with it other than that it appeared to be in the wrong position. Otherwise, I have tried resetting the mechanism and everything that he does in the video but it does not work. The Blu Ray reads games that are in, but just can't eject them. I have scoured the internet for a fix to this and can't find one, and don't want to pay for something that seems like an easy fix.

I’d first want to start out my situation with an intro to the problem itself. So, i’ve used the PS3 slim for quite some time now. Since i first had it on Christmas 2011, i’ve always loved the machine so much. But about say 5-6 years later, it’s been now sitting on my desk, collecting dust. So then i wanted to try it out again if it worked again, and it did…for a bit, after loading up the game, the games loading screen came on, but then, the PS3 made from what seemed like a bad noise, like if i disconnected the power cord while the game was loading(which i didn’t do) but it made that exact noise when the game was loading. When i checked what happened, the red light on the console wasn’t on. I disconnected the power cable and plugged it back in, and alas, the red light was back on, but when powering on the console again, it just turns on for about more than 5 seconds or so, and then it makes the same electrical sound i just described up above. And even at times the PS3 wont shut off for more than 5 seconds, it just turns on perfectly but then its just stuck at the data corruption screen, but the text isn’t there, and i cant do anything else, other than holding down the power button for 10 seconds then power it off. AND THE RED LIGHT IS ON INSTEAD OF BEING ON THE CONSOLE CASE..so..what cab i do now?? i really need help. I will accept any helpful advise that will make my PS3 work the way it should work.
