Philips Sonicare DiamondClean HX9340: I Believe I Have Discovered a Defect In Design

The upper spindle on which the brush snaps into place appears to be constructed partially of plastic. While the brush is vibrating it rubs against a metal portion, especially when the user is pressing the brush against his teeth. My toothbrush now does not operate. Once even the slightest pressure is applied to brushing my teeth the vibration ceases. If no pressure is applied, as in not touching my teeth with the brush, the toothbrush vibrates as it should. This is poor design for the obvious reason - one has to apply pressure and in doing so the plastic part deteriorates making the electric toothbrush useless. Is this a know defect? Can I get my expensive toothbrush replaced? have you made alterations in your latest version?

Hello,

I woke up this morning and was going to brush my teeth but as I was brushing the brush head came off and I saw that the small metal tip that you attach the brush too had come loose, see attached pictures.´

Philips Sonicare DiamondClean HX9340: Vibrates 3 times but doesn’t work

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and a possible solution.

My Sonicare stopped working. When I press the power button or the up down buttons, it will have 3 short vibrations, repeat, and stop. It is charged and the head does seem to vibrate for those 3 short bursts. The only other thing I noticed is that when I press the up button to the middle or highest vibration strength, it will return back to down the lowest strength.

I have cleaned the around the buttons and they seem to be moving OK. Initially the power button seemed too depressed. I have now removed the insides out of the casing and it doesn’t appear to have any obvious defect. The magnet and battery have a good spacing and when I press the power or up/down buttons on the circuit board, it does the same thing (3 vibration bursts, repeat, then stop).

Any ideas?

Philips Sonicare DiamondClean HX9340: Toothbrush fell to floor, now it’s loud and weak. Can I fix it myself?

So. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Sonicare Diamondclean toothbrush. But it fell off the countertop and hit the hard floor. Now when I try to use it, it makes a loud buzzing noise instead of the normal gentle humming noise (it’s an awful noise lol). And it feels very weak when using it. Clearly something either popped loose (please please please) inside, or broke. I can’t afford to replace it right now. How do I open it up to try and find the damage? Any suggestions on what to look for? It is several years old and certainly doesn’t have any warranty remaining. So I’m not worried about voiding the warranty. THANKS!!
