Panasonic Microwave: model NN-SN966S Lost all control of the keypad exept Reset

First, out of the blue, the display screen showed the Power Level counting down repeatedly (P 10, P 9...) while at the same time the speaker was sending out a continuous beep, beep, beep.

When I unplugged the device for a couple minutes, then plugged the power cable back into the socket, the display came up flashing and showed 88:88. I pressed every button on the keypad and only the Reset button worked clearing the display and showed : and again none of the keys on the keypad worked.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking maybe the keypad failed or possibly the microprocessor. Is this even fixable?

Panasonic Microwave: Panasonic NN-SD775S Error H97 (Is not Magnatron | Fuse | Door Swiches)

Hello everyone, I'm experiencing an issue regarding my Panasonic Microwave that is somewhat atypical.

Issue: Whenever a time is set on the microwave and the start button is pushed, it runs for almost exactly 1 second before aborting with the error H97.

Attempted Solutions: The door switches were checked by multimeter, they all have a mode where resistance is high, and another where resistance is low (they are functioning properly). The magnatron had cracked magnets and was replaced upon detection. The new magnatron does not have cracked magnets and its resistnace is low, indicating it is in functioning order. The main fuse is obviously intact or else we wouldn't get lights on the display.

Main Hypothesis: Something on the logic/driver board has gone bad.

Is there something that I should check first on the board? I'm not well versed on checking individual components on a logic board like this. Or of anyone has any other ideas as to what it could be.

Panasonic Microwave: Is my Magnetron failing

Hi Team - I have an NN-ST656W 1100W inverter microwave. I recently fixed a plastic part in the door release and got another 18 months out of it but its starting to overheat and stop cooking effectively.

Basically if we use it to heat something or cook something quickly it works as expected but if my wife cooks pasta in it that has a volume of water it works well but then when she goes to cook some vegetables straight afterward she'll put them on for longer than she normally would and they are still al dente/crisp. At this point the body of the microwave is getting quite hot.

I initially wondered if the cooling fan wasn't working but once I had the microwave out of its shoulder high posi it seems to be moving air well. I've swapped it with the Samsung from my office as at work I only heat a Frozen meal or a pie.

That leaves me thinking its probably the magnetron getting tired? Does that fit, I don't want to waste ~$90 NZD on a part as a new similar 32L microwave is only $250. Otherwise, I'll just keep using it to heat Macaroni and Cheese until it gives up completely. I've lost track of how many years old it is - It appears they still sell the same model now and I've lost track of when we got it - It feels like it could be 10-12 years old?

Panasonic NN-SC668S Microwave: Why does it trip the breaker every time I start it up?

Hi all, my microwave would trip the breaker every time I try to start it. Here's what I've done so far:

I've been using this microwave for around a year without any issues. This started happening in the past few days. The breaker is a 20A breaker, which I think is shared between the fridge, stove, and microwave. Again, this worked for about a year without issues. The microwave alone pulls 12A.

I used my multimeter's continuity test, and confirmed that both thermostats and all 3 door switches are working. The only thing that didn't pass the continuity test is the lamp unit (Light Bulb). The lamp unit has 66 ohms of resistance. However, the light turns on every time I open the door. The internal fuse also has continuity, here's a picture of it.

While keeping the fridge and stove operating, I also plugged a kettle into the same outlet, which didn't trip the breaker. The kettle draws around 9A.

I tried finding parts diagrams or wiring schematics, but can't find any. If anyone got any insight on this, that'd be greatly appreciated!

Panasonic Microwave: Panasonic NN-SD27HS works only for 2-3 sec. false overheating error?

Hi,

this is my first question here.

My Panasonic NN-SD27HS performs very annoing error for quite a while.

It works perfectly ok, but with no reason sometimes it stops working after 2-3 seconds. Magnetron and turntable are off, only overheating fan is on for next 2 min.

Seems like defective temp. sensor, but this malfunction appears/disappears with no explanation...

No error code is displyed...

sometimes it helps, if I reduce the power to 440W

Can it be a kind of loose contact around the temp. sensor, or a capricious door switch mayby?

really no idea where to start checking....

Panasonic Microwave: Microwave starts working as soon as I open the door

As soon as I open the microwave door, the turntable starts spinning, and the microwaves start coming out of the machine. Then when I put in a plate or cup to heat and close the door, the turntable stops spinning and I can punch in a time When I do that the microwave works fine. When I open the door to take the food out the table spins again. When the door is closed, the microwave does nothing like it’s supposed to. It’s only when I open it up that the turntable spins and it starts generating microwaves and the fan motors work.

Panasonic Microwave: Fuse blown on Panasonic Dimension4 Microwave/Convection the Genius

I experienced a power surge in my house causing numerous items to not work. On a few of them, I simply replaced a small cartridge type fuse (3 or 5 amp glass/ceramic type) to get them working. I took apart my microwave oven and sure enough there was a small fuse on the main control panel (front keyboard) that was blown. I replaced that one - BUT upon plugging in the oven, the replacement 5 amp fuse immediately blew. There is no apparent damage to any of the electronics and there is no 'burnt' smell present. There is a small board that appears to be a 'power board' of some sort - identified as B692Y - with black input and output wire connection points and white wire connection points - with a coil in between. This board clearly shows a 125V FUSE 15A - but there is no apparent fuse - or one that I recognize - with no apparent damage. I do not know what to do to proceed and any suggested course of action would be appreciated.

Panasonic NN-SC668S Microwave: Microwave oven leakage preventable?

My Panasonic microwave oven has been leaking and arcing at the door but seems to be heating okay. There is an obvious discoloration on the door and the oven. The location is top right hand corner just outside the oven opening. The size is 1 inch x 0.33 inch on the door (a small bulge) and the oven ( a small depression). I don't think it is leaking outside the oven since there is supposedly an adjacent microwave leakage block on the door.

Has anyone experience with such leakage?

Is there any way to repair the damage and eliminate the arcing?
