Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX3: What tools are required to dismantle it?

Hi

I was trying to dismantle this camera on the weekend to clean the sensor.

I was going well, managed to remove all the minute Phillips head screws and got the back off. Then I came unstuck. There were 3 really small Torx screws holding the sensor cover on. My smallest Torx driver is in a kit I brought from you for Mac repairs, it is a size 6. Any idea what size these in the camera may be? And do you have a kit with the smaller size Torx drivers?

Thank you

Keith

PS It is a fantastic camera but obviously has dust/pollen on the sensor as there are "splodges" on the screen and on photos that move around.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX3: Camera Will Not Power On - Was working previously

Hi,

I received a Lumix DMC-FX3 camera which had the lens jammed open due to sand getting in the mechanism. But it powered on then shutdown.

I manged to disassemble the lens and clean out the sand.

I tested the camera while still disassembled and it seemed to work - the lens mechanism was still a bit noisy so I decided to remove all the grease and clean it thoroughly before applying fresh grease.

When I assembled the unit - it now longer powers on.

There is no sign of life - no flashes from the LED no noise from the motor.

I charged the battery and checked & cleaned all the connections with isopropyl - but still nothing. Completely dead.

It seems to me like a protection fuse might have gone - but I can't easily find on on the pcb.

Does anybody have any experience of this camera?

Or have the service manual for it?

Thanks,

Mark.
