PS Vita Slim: Battery charges, but green light only blinks once when turning on

I have a Vita PCH-2001 that I bought off eBay for parts and repair and I’m trying to figure out what the issue might be. The orange light turns on when charging and turns off when the battery is fully charged, however when attempting to turn on the system I am greeted by the brief flash of a green light and nothing else.

I am unable to get into safe mode, or make anything display on screen. I verified that the battery is alright by checking its voltage manually, and it sits at 4.18-4.2 volts.

Thus far, my only troubleshooting has been checking for water damage (none that I could find), and re-seating all the ribbon cables inside, which resulted in no change to the symptoms. It should be noted that this obviously included disconnecting the battery, which was what I originally tried thinking the issue may have been related to the previous firmware issue with Vitas.

Visually, I am unable to find anything wrong aside from some cosmetic scratches. Does anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

PS Vita Slim: Is my motherboard dead?

Hi all,

I would like to ask if anyone had a problem with PS Vita 2000 like I do. The console does not turn on, at all. It is charging (solid orange light) but does not react when I press the power button.

I already checked the most common problems and tried those steps:

Replaced battery with a known good one.

Pressed PS, R and Power button combination.

Tried charging it with different charger and power cord.

Looked for signs of water damage (didn’t found any).

Checked continuity on fuses around the power section (all working).

Placed the MB in another unit with working components (power button, controller boards, and battery).

Can anyone give me some advice on how to troubleshoot this one?

PS Vita Slim: Where can I get a new battery?

Okay so here's the deal. I need a brand new ps vita battery. Problem is most people who put it up for sale say it's for the dlim. Truthfully it's not. The battery is allways to long and is the battery for the regular. I know because the dimensions of their battery never match mine. They are allways skinnier and longer. The slim's battery is a bit wider and shorter. It comes closer to a square more then the regualr. So my question is where can I get the exact battery I need. Without having to buy a brand new vita slim?

PS Vita Slim: My d-pad and buttons won't work in game

My d-pad isn't working in game but it sometimes does? Same goes for my buttons (x,o,∆,⬜). When I'm not in game my d-pad works ok but it's still iffy. My buttons work fine when I'm not in game. When I press a direction on the d-pad it just keeps going in the down direction command, so it makes it hard to select anything. When I press on a button in game there is no response sometimes. This happened before and I just restored the settings and it worked the first time, but this time its not so PLS HELP!

PS Vita Slim: PSV - charging issue - troubleshooting ideas

Hello,

I recently bought psv slim on ebay. Visual everything looks fine and in good state.

Issue is that battery is almost empty and if you plug usb to charge (from electricity outlet with phone charger, laptop usb or power bank (already tried different usb cabels)) it’s not charging at all while psv itself on.

If you turn off the psv then it charges for about 10 minutes (always the same time) and then you can use console for some time. If you try charge longer, orange light do not show up. If you unplug and plug again the usb it shows for about 50sec and turn off (the orange light). And it’s always the same time. Old owner told me that he tried to replace batteries, but I am thinking to do this also.

I dissembled unit and find nothing unusual inside, everything looks in tact without any trash or visual damage.

PSV version is 3.65

It’s really strange that charging time is the same every time.

I tried to reset factory settings and also unplugged the battery for some time to perform physical reset.

Charger port itself looks intact and in good state on outside and motherboard side (visually) .

Maybe some overheating or voltage security measures stops charge?

Could any one suggest what else I can try to fix this?

Thank you very much :)

PS Vita Slim: Wifi will not connect

I understand that this is most likely a harware issue, i.e. the wireless card and/or wifi antenna.

Is this the case? I have not seen on google any parts for the slim version of the Vita though.

PS Vita Slim: New Battery from iFixit not working, any suggestions?

Ordered a new ps vita slim battery from iFixit’s website. Plugged it into the vita, and charged it for a while. I switched from a wall adapter to a power bank and it gave me a solid orange light, but it still won’t turn on. I also tried soft resetting with power button + home button + R/Volume Up button and still nothing. It’s a Cameron Sino Battery and I made sure it was the right model.
