Pixma MX922: Ghosting only on blacks, colors are okay

My Canon Pixma MX922 has a print ghosting problem only on the two black inks. Colors look good. Canon recommends cleaning the encoder/timing strip with IPA. I have done this multiple times with no performance change. Any ideas what the cause could be? Would a bad print head do this? Do I need to disassemble the printer to access and clean the encoder/timing read sensor?

PIXMA MX922: ADF gears suddenly started making crazy noises

ADF making crazy noise when scanning. Sounds like a physical issue with the feed gears. How do I dissassemble the ADF to access the gears? Also looking for a pdf copy of the service manual for this printer.

PIXMA MX922: Spring behind white plastic paper feeder tab needs replacing

Is there an easy way to replace the small spring that operates this tab? I bought a parts only printer to get the part but now need to figure out how to accomplish this. Do I have to dismantle the printer from the top down? Many thanks!
