Newton MessagePad 2000: How to rebuild the battery?

Handspring Visor Deluxe PDA: Pda doesn't keep data when replacing batteties

I have a pda visor deluxe since 1999 and when I change batteries within 1 min. it keeps data without any problem. I bought recently a brand new one, and it doesn't keep data when I replace batteries. What's the problem? How can I fix it?

It is that I have a Palm Tungsten T (m550) but the first model, not the T2 or T3 models and it does not turn on even when plugged in with the charger, it does not turn on either

Seems hard to take it apart and put it back together.

To be very sure it is the same procedure with the Tungsten T3 model?

Sony Clie PEG-SL10: Replacing battery causes a hard reset

I recently bought a Sony Clie PEG-SL10, primarily for the fact that it takes 2 AAA batteries (easy to replace). However when I do replace the batteries the whole unit hard resets. I can’t find a lot of information on the motherboard but there appears to be 4 cells that might be small batteries (or maybe capacitors?) that would keep the memory long enough to swap batteries over. They appear to be soldered in.

Edit: added annotated cells on an image of motherboard.

Anyone know how I can fix the unit? I’d love to contribute a guide for it, and maintain a great piece of old kit.

How can I fix my MessagePad that's been sitting in a drawer for a few years. The power won't work. I have all the original parts, but had to order the cord from ebay. The batteries or cord nor both will cut it on.

My pocket PC is version 4.21

My hubby noticed that some teeth inside the PDA connection port are busted on one corner. The battery will still take a charge but my docking keyboard won't connect apparently…

Is there a way that I can order that specialty piece of hardware to repair it??

I have HP iPaq 114 stuck on Download mode and it randomly turns on when connected to AC and when I press reset button It turns off and stay that way for over 10 minutes.

Newton MessagePad 2000: Newton MessagePad 2000 Battery Door Doesn't Open!

A few years back, I gave my decidedly non-techy girlfriend a Newton MessagePad 2000. She eventually gave it back, and told me that the batteries had died, but she couldn’t open the battery compartment. Her son managed to get it open and removed the dead batteries before they could leak and foul the interior, but still, the battery door appears to have given up.

Besides sending it off to Frank Gruendel of PDA-Soft fame, any suggestions?
