PAL Super Nintendo: snes black screen but can hear some sound

Hi when I try to play a game on my snes Im getting a black screen and but I do hear some sound. For example if I put super star wars in I can hear the initial sound of the lucasarts logo screen but then it sounds like some sort of crash occurs as it stays on the same note for a few seconds until the sounds fades but I dont hear the sound of the game's title screen coming on. Ive check the board and it all looks in pretty good condition, I feel like its a bad chip, has anyone had similar issues?

Thanks in advance

PAL Super Nintendo: Likely cause of games not progressing beyond title screen?

I recently got a PAL SNES from a car boot sale and can’t seem to get it to work. The console powers up but will not go beyond the title screen for any of the games I have tried. I’ve taken it apart and can’t see any obvious damage anywhere. I cleaned the cartridge slot with isopropyl alcohol, hoping for some tips on what to check next before biting the bullet and getting another console.

PAL Super Nintendo: AV cable Problems No Signal

Hi there!

So I have been having trouble with my Snes, I bought myself a RCA Cables to be able to hook them up to my TV/Monitor(I use an upscaler), and the same thing happened with both of the cables them.

I turn on the console, the works great and suddenly I get no signal message. and then nothing. It happened with both of the RCA Cables. I tried on various TVs and monitors. Sometimes I get sound but no image.

Is this a problem with the connector on the console? I cleaned the console but the solder points may be old and need to reflow them, I can add photos tomorrow.
