Oneplus 3: Power and volume buttons sunk inside the body of Oneplus 3

So, the power and volume buttons on my OnePlus 3 started feeling a little weird lately and slowly one by one all just kind of sunk inside the body of the phone and stopped working altogether. So, I opened the phone and found that the actual internal buttons were fine and working, but the rubber thingy that pushes those buttons from outside and worn out and was unusable. So, does anyone know if those rubber thingys can be replaced or is there any diy hack to make them work or do I need to get the whole back cover replaced?

Oneplus 3: Replaced Battery, Now My Phone is Overheating and Won't Boot

Hi,

I've had my OnePlus 3 for about 2 years now and it was overdue for a battery replacement, so I decided to replace it myself. I bought an OEM battery and carefully replaced the old battery with the new one. After doing this, I attempted to charge it and noticed it was getting very hot at the top of the phone, like dangerously hot. After I got it to boot up, It would reboot after a few minutes of use and remained very hot to the touch even after removing the dash charger. So I decided that the battery must be faulty and put my old one back in and thought I'd just get a refund for the new battery. Unfortunately, the issues I was having with the new battery have continued with the old one too, so now I can't even get the phone to boot or take a charge at all now, even after trying the unbrick tool. I get the low battery notification, then afterwards I get a vibration with nothing on the screen every 2 seconds while it's connected to the charger and it still heats up like mad at the top of the device. Does anyone know what I might be able to do to resolve this problem? Should I maybe try and replace the main motherboard or the Type-C port perhaps? I explained to my friend and he suggested I might have shorted a component due to static or something but I just don't know.

Thank you for any suggestions. :)

Oneplus 3: Won't boot after LCD replacement.

Dear IFixIt community

After replacing my LCD my one plus 3 wont boot.

When I plug it into the wall, it does charge and the LCD powers on with the battery charging icon. Vibration working and everything. But when pressing the power button, it won’t power on.

Could this be a problem with the volume buttons & lock buttons failing? How do I check that it is that and not a faulty motherboard/daughterboard?

Kind regards and thank you

Oneplus 3: Cameras and sensors not working after dropping phone

Hello,

I accidentally dropped my OP3 and since then it started having trouble with at least the cameras, gyro, accel, proximity sensor. Immediately after it, it seemed sporadic, but a few months later it seemed to be forever already. Same problem as here described: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/all-s...

It is definitely a HW problem, as restoring the phone, entering the factory menu, etc make no difference at all, the sensors are just not recognized anymore.

I took the phone to an “unofficial” support and they told me the problem seems to be the whole motherboard and they don’t get replacement parts (this is normal in my area). Does anyone have any suggestion or experience? I know that what I’m asking is not likely at all to have another solution, but as last resource, just in case anyone has better information if those sensors share a specific part which could be solved otherwise or so :).

The only solution I would have in mind would be either to buy an used OP3 board or a phone for replacement (for example broken display or so), or just to buy a new phone :(.

I wanted to avoid the last option because I love this one and would last under normal conditions at least one or two years more…

Thanks in advance!!

Everything went ok, but i can’t get the phone to turn on. When i put it on my charger, it does connect (smoothly) and i see it charging (20% right now). But I can’t turn on the phone.

Does anybody have any clue what I did wrong or what part of the recovery i should do again? Because this means the battery is working correctly, right?

Thanks in advance.

Nvm, put on the casing and it turned on. Weird, according to the video i could check without it. Oh well.

Oneplus 3: Screen does not work after replacement

Hi, seems like something went wrong… I followed all the instructions, but at the end of the reassembly, the phone does not turn on. I plugged in the charger and pressed the power button, but there is only a slight vibration, the back/home buttons light up, and then nothing. The device repeats this every few seconds. I tried power + vol down for a few seconds too, LED goes red and then same result (repeat vibration + back/home lights blink). What’s the problem here? What might I have missed? Is the new display or new battery faulty?

Oneplus 3: Why does my OP 3 shuts down after locking?

Hi there,

I recently changed the screen of my OP 3 because it fell on the floor and did not show anything afterwards (I don't know if this only damaged the screen or also other parts of the phone).

Now, the screen works very well and and the phone does turn on as well (I even type this with my OP3). But I now have two problems:

1) My phone shuts down almost immediately after I lock it (after one or two seconds I can still unlock it but after 5 seconds or so it is dead). It does not shut down while the screen is on, though.

2) It heats quite a lot during using and especially during charging. I know, this seems to be a general issue with older OP phones and happened to me as well, but never to that extent (after charging 30 min it gets overheated which never happened before).

Plus, there are two issues that might or might not be related to these to problems so I add them as well: My volume control buttons did not work before the screen replacement, which is quite odd, because the power button works well. And I think I have destroyed the home button/fingerprint scan while changing the screen.

What do you think, is there any hope of solving these problems without having to buy a new phone?

Best, thank you all!
