OnePlus One: Phone won't turn ON or Charge.

Hey there Ifixit Community, i came to you because i think my phone done a short circuit, it was ON and pluged in an inactive USB port on my PC which i've plugged internaly just after.

Then i noticed that the low battery LED on the OnePlus doesn't blink anymore. First of all i thought about a complete discharge. But no charging LED. I've plugged the phone on the power adapter : No LED. This is when i started to freak out.

I've took appart the phone, removed the battery, mesured the voltage : 3.77 Volts. The battery is normaly 4.35 Volts.

Is it a big gap even if there is always a tolerance ?

Is my battery is dead ? Or something shorten the motherboard ?

I don't want to buy a new battery if this won't solve the issue, and i have no schematics to do a continious testing with my multimeter on the motherboard..

Any help is welcommed. Thanks.

Update (06/20/2016)

Is changing the battery will solve the charging, and the fact that my phone does not get detected by my PC ?

Update (06/27/2016)

If anyone got any ideas, like i don't know, a motherboard diagram or something that can help me fix this problem... Otherwise my last thing to do sill be to sell this phone for part and buy a new one. I've seen motherboard on ebay at 200$..

OnePlus One: My SIM Card Slot is Broken!

My OnePlus One is no longer recognizing my SIM card. I think it would help to replace the SIM slot. Does anyone know how to do that?

I'm sure I could figure out how to replace it myself if I knew which SIM slot to buy or where to get it. Also, I saw that someone else busted his SIM slot and the response was instructions on how to insert a SIM card. I know how to insert a SIM card. I am looking to fix the SIM slot.

OnePlus One: How to get rid of the colour seeping across my phone screen?

It used to be a small spot in the top left corner

I had a green and blue patch at the corner of my phone screen. The colour only shows when the screen is on (the brighter the screen the more visible the colour) and the abnormale colouring did not show up in any screenshots. It looks like water so I put it in rice for a few days. When I took it out it had only gotten worst. The colour has now seeped across the screen and limits visibility. What should I do?

OnePlus One: Yellow band at the bottom. Design or Glue?

Hello guys and girls!

A lot of new users of the devices(OnePlus One) have seen this nasty problem on their screens.

One of the photos with tthis problem

At the same moment the main OnePlus forum just exploded of the number of questions, theories and all kinds of options how to fix this problem.

Many said that this is just the glue and it is still wet, and eventually it will pass. Some users get answers from support that this problem is part of design :) But the official response from the company, threw all into shock.

Official answer

"All devices may show a slight yellow banding near the bottom, visible in extreme circumstances and not impacting daily use.".

Because of that many users is very upset because they can't ask for replacing of the phone.

My question is: If you already have this phone, can you teardown the screen and investigate that problem. We will appreciate this.

Thanks

OnePlus One: After replacing my screen I have had ghosting problems

So several months ago I had dropped my onePlus one and cracked my screen loosing all touch capabilities on the bottom 2/3 of the screen. After getting by using a microUSB mouse I decided the best solution for me was to fixit my self thanks to this website. I was able to successfully replace the screen and didn't have any problems with my phone for several months. However, over the past 2 months it has began to have a very annoying Ghosting problem that seems to come and go but has gotten bad enough I have had to apologize for phone calls I didn't make and delete pictures I didn't take. From my research and experience on the issue I'm still uncertain if this is a hardware or software issue. It does seem to be worse if my phone is hot from intense use or very visually intense apps but that is the only clear connection I have seen. Any advice on how to resolve or troubleshoot the issue is welcome and appreciated. Thanks for you help.

OnePlus One: Is there any way to recover internal memory (OnePlus One)?

Hello,

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to check this out. I have a OnePlus One. I sent it off to get a screen replaced and volume buttons fixed. It’s been returned with a new screen (buttons unfixed) and wont turn on at all! It’s an old handset but the reason I needed to get it fixed is it has the authenticator for some old accounts I need to access.

Anyway, is there any way to recover the internal memory onto an emulator or something? What would the options be, if any?

If anyone has come across a guide showing the process of removing the internal memory I’d appreciate it - something to send to the repair people to explain what I need.

Cheers,
