OnePlus 5T: Dropped my phone. Now the white balance is off

Hello everyone,

a couple of days ago I dropped my phone. After I picked it up I immediately noticed that the screen had a greenish tint. I was able to fix it kinda by going into the settings and changing the color calibration. But there is something else wrong. The white level and black level and also the color calibration depend on the brightness now. When I increase the brightness, the screen gets blueish and it gets hard to tell white and light gray apart. Same thing then I dim the screen. The colors get warmer and dark gray start to look like black.

How is that possible? And can I fix it without replacing the screen? I already opened the phone and reseated the screen connector, but that didn't do anything.

UPDATE: I reseated the connector a second time and now it is much better. The colortemp does not change with brightness any more and also the problem with the black and white levels is gone. The greenish tint is still there though

OnePlus 5T: Rapid ticking noise instead of sound from speaker

Hello everyone !

I successfully replaced the screen of my OnePlus 5T, however a problem remains : the speaker does not play any sound anymore.

Instead a rapid ticking noise can be slightly heard when playing a sound (music, call, video…) but also when starting some apps (WordReference for instance, which does not require any sound). The noise will last a little more if I pause the sound supposed ti be played.

I searched for a solution and found out that the speaker is dead (some talked about humidity) and bought a new one : replacing the speaker did not solve the problem.

What do you think could be responsible for this ? Are there any solutions ?

Many thanks !

OnePlus 5T: Bottom Housing Screw Size Measurements

Hey guys, I went to a repair store who clearly did not know what they were doing. The phone screen was fixed but they messed up the signal cable, they didn’t connect the speaker cable, and most importantly, when opening the phone, I noticed there were no bottom housing screws. I could fix everything but locating where to buy these screws were difficult. I decided to go to a hardware store to get them, but what do I even ask for? I’m frankly new to finding certain types of screws with measurements, so help would be appreciated. If not, do you guys think adhesive would work? I really REALLY don’t wanna use adhesive as that ruins the point of the phone being easy to open, but if it’s gotta go there then it’s too bad.

OnePlus 5T: Issues with screen after replacing

Hello,

I'm experiencing some issues after replacing my screen. I'm getting a lot of ghost touches when scrolling, and every few days the screen goes crazy with clicks. Completely unusable. Can't do anything but hard reboot which fixes it. The Keyboard is a bit off. Most gestures work, but only if you use a different one each time. Example: You can't use 'V' twice in a row. You have to do a different gesture each time or it won't respond. Music gestures don't work at all.

Everything else works as it should.

Any idea what could be causing it?

OnePlus 5T: How to get access to anti dust earpiece mesh?

OnePlus 5T: Newly-bought battery for OnePlus 5T does not charge anymore

Hey there,

I've recently bought a replacement battery for my 5T.
The replacement process went well, and all worked fine(for a bit).

On the packaging(and here) it says to charge the battery to 100% and keep charging it(which I did), let it drain completely, and then charge it back up.
Now, I did the charge up to 100% + the extra 2 hours yesterday, where everything worked fine.
I let it drain over the course of today, and plugged it in when the phone shut down, just as described.
Since then, it hasn't been charging, and keeps showing the screen described in this post, which incidentally was the very reason I bought this replacement.

What's happening? I'm confused, the charging worked just fine yesterday, so the charging plug shouldn't be the problem. Did I just get unlucky and receive a broken battery?

Thank you very much for any help/suggestions!

OnePlus 5T: Tape on buttons necessary? (Power button, volume buttons)

I was having issues with the power button. It felt like a loose contact getting worse over the last weeks. So i decided to get a new button for like 4€ and to open my OnePlus 5T:

I saw that there is tape between the power button (connected to the main board) and the plastic button on the (at that point removed) phone cover. That tape looked really perforated and could easily be the cause of issue. Since most of the assembly tutorials/videos don’t attach any tape after installing the button, I decided to simply remove the tape and continue to use the original power button.

Has that been a good idea? What’s the use of that tape on the button?
