On-Ear Headphone: Sony WH-H900N h.ear headphones stop charging after 1 minute

Hi, all.

I have a pair of Sony WH-H900N h.ear headphones that are around 3.5 years old.

Lately the charging function has started to play up. They’ll be plugged in to charge, but won’t charge to 100%.

I assumed it was the battery, so following some instructions on IFIXIT, I ordered a replacement battery and replaced it.

Unfortunately, it seems the battery itself is fine, as the issue persists.

The charging light comes on when the headphones are plugged in to charge, but then only stays on for around one minute and then it stops charging. This is intermittent, as if I keep trying, it occasionally charges for longer and might get as high as 70% charged.

I’ve experimented with various charging cables and it’s definitely not a cable issue.

The most success I’ve had is when I put it on a very short cable so that the headphones are sort of hanging a little bit with some of the weight pulling slightly on the cable/port. It could just be coincidence that it’s worked mostly when they’re positioned like this.

I’m assuming it’s either the charge controller or the port that’s the issue.

Has anyone had experience with this who could point me in the right direction to try to fix them? They’re ridiculously expensive headphones, still in really good condition, and I’d really like them to last longer.

What's the sturdiest method of repairing my headphones? I already tried super glue, which worked for 30 seconds before the headphone band broke again. Check out the picture:

On-Ear Headphone: Marshall Monitor - sound in one ear only

Hello :)

I have a Marshall Monitor (no Bluetooth)

I used to be able to use only one jack cable to listen to my music. But now, I have the sound in only one single ear at the time. The headset has two jack entries, one on each side. But it seems the sounds doesn’t “spray” anymore.

Both side are working correctly individually, I have even checked with a “jack spliter”, and I can technically use this with two jack cables to have the sound Stereo in both sides. So, both jack entries are working correctly and respectively connected to the side where they are.

I then tend to believe the cable connecting both sides is malfunctioning. But I cannot find where or even to prove it.

Right Side:

Left Side:

What do you think please ? :)

I guess it looks like this ahah:

Also, maybe I am overthinking, maybe I could just buy a Cable One Jack Male 3.5mm to Two Jack Males 3.5mm and it should work as the spliter right ? I cannot find such cable, do you know where I could get one ?

Thanks in advance :)

On-Ear Headphone: The wire on my Marshall major 2 headphones has frayed on one side help

Hi guys, the wire on my Marshall major headphones has frayed a bit on one side and was causing audio issues until i decided to use a glue (called feviquick) on it with the logic that it will form a protective covering around the wire but instead it made the already feeble connection between them even worse. Now i only get weak sound from one side . Can i fix it myself or should i take it to a repair shop? Btw this happened because of a design flaw in which the earpads are able to rotate completely but the wire is not long enough and so it gets stuck after rotating too much. That kept happening until over time it frayed. Very silly design considering thats its the second iteration of a nice pair of headphones by a good sound company.
