Olympus Stylus 300: Camera powers down unexpectedly

The camera is several years old. When it is powered on, it frequently shuts down, retracting the lens. This sometimes happens within seconds of being turned on, other times it lasts long enough to take photos. I replaced the battery, then opened the camera up and cleaned the electrical contacts. No luck. Any ideas?

Olympus Stylus 300: Why my olympus mju ii (stylus epic) tries to open itself all the time?

Hi,

I always carry my olympus mju ii (stylus epic) with me, in my pocket or my bag and it started to do this weird thing where it tries to open on its own but get blocked by the thingy you pull to open it.

Any advice? I'm worried it will get damaged, also it must empty the battery pretty quickly?
