Oculus Rift CV1: Ribbon cable (headphones/rear tracking sensors) broken

Hey guys...

Some days ago, I bought one CV1 it from a friend. But unfortunately in the transport the ribbon cable in headband it broke. I tried repair this ribbon cable but I don't had success. I tried talk with the Oculus Support...I asked if they send me another headband for make my rift 100% again but apparently, they do not want help me. I know how disassembly/assembly my rift, this is no worry for me...but they said basically "Sorry to hear that Rift was damaged"...short answer: buy another one.

Anyone can help me about this problem? How can repair? Where find something that can use for fix?

I tried amend the ribbon cable using wires but when I test continuity with multimeter any pin doesn't work.

1- Before try fix, I tested continuity between this pins and the headphone pins, it's working.

2- I received the oculus in this situation. I needed cut the ribbon cable after this hole because was torn.

3- Conversation with the Oculus Support Team

3 - Soldered pins with wires in the both sides, at the moment, all that's fine. I tested again the continuity between the blue wire sides, it's working too...but if a test between the blue wire side and headphone contact...not working :( (maybe why I use this wire? need another wire type?)

4 - Another picture without zoom

Oculus Rift CV1: Main unit gets very hot

My CV1 gets very hot on the top after about 20 mins of use. I had a DK1 and DK2 and I never had this problem. I thought I was just being sensitive to this but when people try my rift after about 15 or 20 mins they take it off and usually exclaim “Woooahhhhhhh” Not like that was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen but like i’m taking off a gas mask after wearing it in the Missouri summer for 30 minutes. It’s uncomfortable.

I tried contacting Oculus shortly after I got the device but unfortunately I got busy and didn’t follow up. Now i’m out of warranty and Oculus’ answer is buy a refurb unit.

When doing research on this online I don’t see much about the unit heating up. I even booted up my old DK2 for comparison and it doesn’t get nearly as hot.

I don’t have a way to measure surface temperature. Any suggestions on measuring temperature or addressing this issue if anyone has heard of it. I was looking into modifying the unit to add some quiet fans to the top. I’m not concerned about obscuring the sensors on top as I generally play from a seated position.

Oculus Rift CV1: My IPD changes are not registering in Oculus Home

I recently dropped my Oculus when trying to clean the lenses and although it still functions with no noticeable loose parts, changes in the IPD using the slider are not detected in the software. The lenses themselves move and I can get a clear image but as my IPD is ~60mm and the software is stuck reading at 71mm in-game perspectives are not correctly scaled.

Oculus Rift CV1: How to fix HMD disconnection?

My Oculus Rift headset is constantly disconnected, and the "We can't find your headset..." notice will pop out, I have tried everything on the software end including setting usb power management and got the officially recommended Inateck PCI-E USB card, which didn't help either. The headset will disconnect randomly and also when I give pressure on the top of the device, especially on the top left nearby the HDMI plug. Wondering if this is caused by the hardware defect and it would be highly appreciated if you could tell me how to fix it. Thank you very much!
