A double-sided flex cable has torn right at the edge, immediately next to a small SMD capacitor. This section is supposed to connect the mainboard to the battery side. Because the tear happened right at the edge, the original soldering pads on the flex are completely ruined/missing.

The Goal: > I want to safely find the correct paths to run jumper wires from the remaining components/board to the battery terminals.

My Questions:

Since the flex is double-sided and the edge is ruined, what is the correct step-by-step method to use a multimeter (Continuity, Resistance, or Diode mode) to accurately identify which side of this SMD capacitor connects to Ground (GND) and which side connects to the positive line?

How can I verify that my new jumper connections are 100% safe and correct before I actually connect the lithium battery, to prevent blowing up the charging IC or causing a short?

What I've done so far was connecting the FPC to the main board, and by using a multimeter I've found that the red side of the capacitor goes to ground.

Hi all,

I’m trying to identify a small 5-pin IC on the flex PCB of a Nothing earbud charging case (Nothing Ear).

Details:

Package: SOT-23-5
Top marking: AK3T7 (or very close)
Location: on flex cable going to pogo pins (earbud charging contacts)

Issue:

Right earbud not detected
Voltage drop only on right side when flex is connected:
- Left side: ~4.2V (normal)
- Right side: drops to ~3.8V under load

What I tested:

Disconnect flex → both sides read 4.2V
Connect flex → right side voltage drops
Removed the IC → voltage returns to normal
BUT detection LED no longer lights up without the IC

Observations:

Pin 2 = GND
Pin 4 ≈ 3V (input)
Pin 5 ≈ 3V (output)
Likely has EN/control pins

Also found a damaged resistor connected to VOUT, which may have caused the failure.

Questions:

What IC could this be? (Load switch? Power distribution? Detection IC?)
Any known equivalents or replacements?

I have the CMF buds pro 2, and I was noticing that my earbuds were so quiet I could hardly hear then anymore. I cleaned the mesh filters and they are now as good as new. However, I am now going to need to replace the filters at some point, and I was wondering what size of mesh filters I need to buy.

I bought a second hand earbuds a few days ago. Everything seems to work I just cant connect it to the nothing x app it connects to bluetooth and all the app just doesn't work

My earbuds are damaged and due to it my front speakers aren't working properly and are producing very less sound and also the quality of my back speakers is increased to such an extent that the sound is leaking out and can be heard without wearing it in the ears. So one day when i wake up and connect my nothing ear a with my phone. I wear the both buds in ear but i notice that my right bud is sounding too low then my left bud. I did everything like restart my phone and pair it again. Pair it with another phone. Update them but nothing happened. Please tell me what should I do?

I used blue tag and a sharp pin to get the ear wax out and now the seal on my left bud is not great even though I wear it normally the passive noise cancellation is really bad

The casing of my left ear bud has come apart, anybody have recommendations for a glue I can use to put it back together? I still have my gasket and would prefer to keep them relatively water tight for working out
