Nokia N8: Not Starting and Charging

I bought a nokia n8 2 weeks ago. Was using my phone sending text messages when it suddenly hung up and shut down. When I tried to power it on it won't start and tried to recharge it but the indicator light does not go on meaning it does'nt charge. Has anybody experience this with a nokia n8?

Hi there, got this phone a few days ago and tried to use a microsim with it (certainly not supported).

In the process of pulling it out from the sim card slot, it seems both the spring (push/pull) mechanism got stucked or broken.

Does anyone knows a way to fix or replace the whole slot? I ve googled for replacement parts any didnt find any :(

how do i get the micro usb on my nokia n8 working again, i cant connect to my laptop or charge it now via my car charger, when i do connect it and select mass storage, i get nothing, any help would be great, i have tried different usb cables, car chargers and other peoples laptops and it does not connect so its definatly the phone

Nokia N8: Corrupted internal mass memory. Customar care said unrepairable.

Two years old. Problem is unavailable to detect mass memory. Mass memory does not respond anymore. Phone is extremely slow, only 200 Mb of phone memory available. One customer care said 16gb mass memory corrupted n parts are not available in INDIA. Another said its unrepairable.

Have tried hard,soft reset. Flashing doesn't work either. Have googled n tried most solutions.

Has anyone had a similar problem, is 16gb mass memory chip available in some other country? Is it replaceable?

It its not opening ... it just giving ablack screen and u hear the camera capture sound only and saves ablack photo also

During Video recording the red LED on the side of the flash in Nokia N8 lights up which is annoying if you are facing the camera.

There is no option to disable the red LED. How should I disable it

Is this a common flaw, I hardly ever use the headset.

Now it will not fully seat or activate.

Is the jack itself broken?

All of a sudden my N8 won’t turn on or charge. It was fine the night before and had plenty of charge. Now it’s just a blank screen. I’ve tried all of the chargers it came with. It has a genuine Nokia battery. I’ve read that some early models had a software issue. Mine was actually swapped for a factory reconditioned model because of all the problems it had.

I saw some thermal pads on the N8's mid-plane. Now my phone will auto-restart and continue restart when the phone is in warm environment but it will be all right if getting it directly under an aircond. So, I was thinking will apply thermal paste helps this. Thanks.

Nokia N8: FM Transmitter fault!

I have recently taken apart my N8 to replace case and digitizer screen and now find when back together that the FM transmitter range is almost next to nothing.

Where is the FM Transmitter PCB contact/chip or how does it 'transmit' ie through phone case, endcap, etc.

Has the metal contact above the flash unit and just below the volume button (N8 Teardown, Step 17, below left index finger tip, but not the three strips just to the right) have anything do with the FM transmitter.

Nokia N8: Is my Nokia N8 dead or just the battery?

I have an old Nokia N8 that I’ve been trying to revive. It hasn’t powered on in years. I first tried charging it using the original Nokia AC-3U charger via the barrel port — nothing happened. Then I tried charging it via MicroUSB and left it plugged in overnight (around 8–9 hours), but still there was no response at all — no lights, no vibration, and the screen remained off.

I opened the phone carefully and disconnected the BL-4D battery. I measured its voltage with a multimeter and saw it was extremely low — around 2.7–2.9V after attempting a jumpstart, but within minutes it drops back down to nearly 0V. I’ve attempted jumpstarting it a few times but the battery won’t hold any charge. I also tried checking if the phone would power on when plugged in with no battery, but nothing happens — no indication of power.

I have another battery from a different phone (an LG GS190), but it's wider and the contact pins don’t match, so I can't use it. Given all this, is there anything else I can do to test whether the phone is still functional?

Nokia N8: Mother Board attached Daughter board detached(tore away)... help

Once my mobile was dropped down and headed to repair centre and found that the Daughter board attached by a ribbon cable to the Mother Board was cut-off(ribbob cable tore away),...and now my headset jack,ambient sensor,volume buttons,ear piece,etc does not work.. Do i have any option of re-attaching the Daughter board back as before...? Please help me...
