2003-2009 Nissan Quest: 04 quest van limp mode and no electronics

Working on a 04 quest. My first stupid mistake was not disconnecting the battery. I was changing the O2 sensor and the rubber boot on the alternator slipped up and the socket grounded the positive lead to the alternator. There really was not a spark, but there was a quick puff of smoke. And a slight pop from the battery I believe. The van starts but no electronics work except for the display. And a bunch of dummy lights are on. In park full throttle only revs up to 2k rpm and in drive or reverse on flat surface will accelerate but if I encounter a hill lit will not go up. Reverse is the same. No acceleration. Looks like the fuses are all good. Would the grounding out the positive wire cause the alternator to go bad? Which in turn make pretty much everything not work since the system is pretty much all electric? I have hooked up a code reader but there are no codes that have to do with electric. Needless to say I still need to replace the O2 sensor. Thank you for your help.

Ty for your quick response. But I was able to figure out the problem. There are a few in line fuses on the positive battery cable at the battery terminal. And the 40amp fuse was blown. I have also replaced the 02 sensor.

1998-2002 Nissan Quest: Why does my blower motor Resistor keep breaking?

I drive a 2002 Nissan Quest. The blower motor will only work on the highest setting because the blower motor resistor keeps breaking. I changed the blower motor resistor about 7 times. Settings 1, 2, & 3 will work with a new resistor but not for long. Most recently, I also replaced the blower motor itself, along with a new resistor. The resistor still blew out with the new motor. I am not sure what could be causing the resistor to constantly blow out.

2003-2009 Nissan Quest: Slipped timing chain on a 3.5l engine

I have an 06 Quest when i last drove it, I was going up a slight incline at 60 mph. I heard a small metallic sound and the Quest lost. Power and died. It would crank but not start. My mechanic said I threw a timing chain. His repair quote was about $3600. My question is, if the plastic clip holding the tensioner broke. Would the repair be as costly. I was told I would need a water pump, oil pump, new timing chain and gaskets . does this sound right and is it worth it. I only paid $2500 or it with 120000 miles on it.
