Nintendo Wii Remote: My wiimote doesn’t connect to my Wii

Whenever I try connecting my wiimote to my old Wii it doesn’t work. I’ve tried both sync buttons, on the wiimote and the Wii. I believe the problem is the Wii itself but I’m not a genius. Please help

So I’m fairly new to this whole console repair/modification business, but I thought a mod for a built in LiPo battery intended for use with game boys could be repurposed for a Wii-mote instead.

I did manage to get everything working but when I opened it up again to solve a minor issue I think I managed to short something out, and now it’s pretty much been bricked. It looks to me like the damage is in the capacitor/resistor group just above the chip labeled U5 (though I could be wrong about that, there aren’t a lot of maps for the circuit board out there)

Specifically the components C65, R42, C61, and R41, in the bottom area of the picture, a little down and left of the speaker contacts. R42 and R41 both read at about 200k ohms, C65 reads around 10k ohms but C61 seems to be missing. Does anyone know which component I need for that spot?

Nintendo Wii Remote: Aftermarket Wii remote pointer gets erratic after a few minutes of use

I have this aftermarket Wii remote plus (It doesn't say that explicitly, but I know it has WMP because I played Skyward Sword, a game that requires it, without the WMP accessory attached) from Vintage Stock that I got to replace a lost Wii remote. I think it's from a brand called "TTX Tech" (It doesn't say that on it, but I googled a bunch of brands of aftermarket Wii remotes and it matches that brand almost exactly). It works normally when I first turn it on after it's been off for a while, but after a few minutes, the pointer starts "shaking". It's the only one of my Wii remotes that does this, so I've ruled out any problem with the console or the sensor bar, so it's probably the remote. This isn't a problem for a lot of games, particularly those that don't rely on the pointer that much, but for others, like Super Mario Galaxy, it's kind of a nightmare to deal with. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Hello, I recently acquired some old wiis and a corroded wii remote. I opened up the wii remote and did a complete clean of the entire board and battery terminals. Everything seems to be fine with the rest of the remote but the middle three buttons have no functionality. Any insight into a possible fix would be amazing.

Hi, community of iFixit! So I’ve got a strange problem with one of my Wii Remotes. One of them is draining the battery surprisingly fast (about 10 minutes from full to flat). The weird thing is that the problem is not with the batteries since I’ve tried many different types, but they are still going flat extremely fast in this Wii Remote. If I put in really powerful batteries, I’m probably getting about 20 minutes more of battery life… But still!

I’m not sure if there is some short circuit in the motherboard in the remote or not, but as far as I’ve understood (by Google) the batteries should begin to go flat after around 30 hours of gameplay. Not 10-30 minutes.

The remote is old, yes. But this is still a weird behaviour. Have anyone got any solution or thought of what could cause this short battery life?

So I bought a wiimote plus off Ebay that wouldn't turn on. When I opened it up, one of the battery contacts fell out. Of course a dry socket would be the culprit, right? Well, no. It did power on after a day of just sitting, but with only player 3's light being on. No flashing or response to anything. So I remove the batteries and research aggressively to no avail.

Then, when I try again today, it started vibrating. It would go for one second, and stop with the fourth light pulsing until it started vibrating again. Rinse and repeat. I tried to do some more research, but of course, I seem to be the only person who's having this issue. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Nintendo Wii Remote: Controller will not sync

Both controllers stopped working at the same time. Changed batteries, tried the sync button remedy - no good. I find it strange that you have to remove the batteries on the controller to get to the sync button. How can any lights come on with no power to the controller? I've scrutinised the controller and there's no way to reach the sync button without removing battery power. Scratching my head now

Wii remote “B” button won’t stay pressed, the b button works just fine but if I try to do a hold press it will only do a quick press

This problem happens with all the Wii remotes I’ve tried and I’ve replaced the batteries and powered the console on and off to no avail, the buttons are clean and are not sticking

So, I have bought a Wii remote, and it’s problem, is that the cursor isn’t appearing on the screen, when I’m moving the remote, or it appears rarely. I thought that the problem is in the sensor bar, so I’ve tried another remote of mine, and it is working well, and now I’m thinking that the problem is in the remote itself. What can be of fault? I think that the problem is in the receiver. If so, what can be done for resolving this problem. The 1 button on my Wii remote doesn't respond to soft presses, only hard presses. I opened and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs to no effect. There was also no visible corrosion or dirt.

Two of my Wii remotes no longer turn on, one of them had a small amount of corrosion in the battery compartment, and the other one has a little bit more in the battery compartment, and some in the nunchuck port. I tried to cleanse the port and the compartment on both, but the problem persists.

Hello I have a wii remote that turns on right away when the battery is inserted. It doesn't turn off when power button is pushed. All lights stay on and stay solid.

Because it is in this state it doesn't sync with the wii. I've cleaned the motherboard with isopropyl but it didn't help. Any suggestions?
