Nintendo DSi XL: Device won't turn on

My daughter came to ne with her DSi XL and said it will not turn on. Indeed when you press the button it flashes then turns off. It will turn on when a game is loading, but turns off immediately after. We have removed the battery, cleaned the contacts and fully charged it. There are no rattles in the case and everythign else seems to be in order. I am guessing it is the power board, but that is just a guess. has anyone else had this experience. Alos it has been dropped, but it had worked for a while after that.

Thanks

Nintendo DSi XL: I've broken the DSI motherboard power connector!

I recently bought a "for parts" DSI off of Ebay. The lower screen was broken, but I'd replaced a DS lower screen and figured I could handle it. I used the instructions on this website to begin the disassembly of the unit, when I got to the point where you disconnect the power cable from the mobo (step 9) I ran into a problem: the entire connector, not just the cable, came off the mobo. Is there any way to reconnect the mount point for the power connector or is this a matter of suck it up and send it out to a repair tech? I'm going to look at under a magnifying glass and hope I can solder it back on, but I'm not certain that will work. Any suggestions most appreciated.

ok so i got a DSI XL SMB 25 anniversary edition from my landloard because his kids havent played it in years

so i brought it home make my own charger for it, of course the pins are so tiny and close together ive had the wires touch eachother while it was charging but fixed it right away,

When i try to power it the blue power light comes on for 1 milisecond then turns out and the charging light keeps blinking,

i have removed the battery and plugged it in and the charging light still blinks

i dont think i fried anything in the mother board but i dont have a tiny screw driver to take the whole thing apart to test things,

but now i have the right charger and its still blinking away with AND without the battery installed any one know how to fix this?

and the battery will still power a fan so the battery works, is this the motherboard prob?

Nintendo DSi XL: Dsi power problem water damage

I spilt tea on my dsi xl about 12 weeks ago now. Finally got round to opening it up. The charger light was just flashing so I knew it was a power problem. started stripping it down when the battery power connector came off the motherboard (red and black wire connector) and when i looked at it closer it was corroded. I've cleaned down the corrosion that i can see on the motherboard with a soft toothbrush and it looks ok now. I also painstakingly soldered wires to the motherboard to fix that issue. Now charge light stays solid but blue light will blink once when I press the power button. The screens don't flash at all. I can upload picture of the damage I found If it would help. Could you suggest anything else as I can't afford to buy another one.

Thanks in advance

Nintendo DSi XL: DSI XL is blinking orange but will not turn on

I have a Nintendo DSI XL that will not turn on. When it's in the charger I only see a blinking Orange LED. I already reseated the battery and cleaned the battery connection points but that did not solve the problem. I tried testing the power board with a multimeter and that seems okay. When the battery is out of the DSI XL it still keeps blinking orange and will not turn on. Can a DSI XL boot with only a power cord attached to it so I can narrow down the problem?

And what could be the problem in your opinion the battery or the power board. I also tried a different charger but that's not the problem. Thanks in advance for the help!

Edit: I just tested a DS Lite I had with the multimeter on the power connection on the mainboard and noticed that the power on multimeter goes up and down alot. When I pushed the DS lite's battery to the battery connection points and still had the multimeter attached to the power connection on the mainboard the power stayed constant.

I then tried to do same thing with the DSI XL but it keeps going up and down with the battery in it.

Nintendo DSi XL: broke off the connector for power supply

I recently got a used DSi XL untested. When I plugged it in, the yellow charging light blinked, and it did not power on (occasionally an attempt to power it on would result in the blue light turning on for a split second, but most attempts to turn it on resulted in nothing). I cleaned the battery compartment with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I tested the battery and it seemed to be working. After reseating the battery in the cleaned compartment, I still had the same problem… so I unscrewed the back and took it off (careful not to tear any of the ribbon cables). If anyone knows a fix to this issue, thats also welcome, but as of right now nothing is going to work because I also broke the connection of the power supply (which is my main question):

unfortunately when I was removing the circuit board under the battery compartment, I misunderstood the instructions and removed the entire white square with the + and - (red/black) wires (as opposed to removing the piece within the white square). I was wondering if I should solder it back on (and if so, what tools are needed for smthn so small) or if there are other possible solutions to reconnect the supply current (like maybe just securing the piece exactly so with electrical tape? would that be enough to complete the connection?).

TL;DR

I broke off the piece that connects the battery to the motherboard and dont know how to reattach it/if reattachment is possible.

Nintendo DSi XL: How do I fix Charging Port on my DSI XL consoles?

I have 4 working DSi XL consoles. On 3 of them I experience the same difficulty charging the battery.

When the charger is plugged, its terminal makes EITHER poor contact OR none at all, and I have to twist and turn and contort the charger terminal to get the charging light to come on and to stay on.

I've opened one of the consoles (the "hardest to charge" one) to replace the port with spares bought off the Internet

But the soldered leads on the port seem fine. However it looks as though there is a design problem which makes it difficult to access the component to check it properly.

I'd just as soon remove the one port and replace it as a matter of course - as a learning experience - but i thought I'd ask HERE first. More experienced do-it-yourselfers: can you help? Advice, please (photos will be GREAT.
