Nintendo DSi: How do I fix unresponsive shoulder buttons?

Very simply, the L and R buttons on my DSi don't work anymore. I tried going to Nintendo about the problem, but they said it'd cost at least $50 to repair...and my system is long past its warranty. Will I have to take apart my DS to fix it?

My DSi was working just fine and I was playing my Pokemon White Version 2 game in Pokestar Studios when I closed my DSi and it turned off! I pressed the power button and held the power button, but it wouldn't turn on. After a while, it turned on but it went to a black screen without a yellow light. Now what?

Nintendo DSi: Charge indicator blinking orange, will not power up

Cracked open my sons DSi to look into the right shoulder button not functioning. Put it back together and button still not functional. Opened it up again to clean button better, now the DSi will not power up and the orange charge light only blinks when plugged into wall charger. When I hit the power button, the blue light comes on for a second or two then goes out. Left it charging overnight with no success. Is it more likely that the battery now needs to be replaced or did I damage some internal component the second time I cleaned it?

Nintendo DSi: White Screen "?MENU" With r4 Card

I’ve been trying to get my r4 card to work for days now, and I’m getting a bit at a whits end. All it shows when I open up the r4 game is a white screen with a red SD card with “menu” written in it.

It’s a completely new r4 SDHC 2018 GOLD PRO. It’s a completely new SD micro card. I’ve tried changing the format, getting _DS_MENU.DAT files, getting patched ROMS and all that, and absolutely nothing has worked.

Is it because it’s a DSi? It was supposed to be supported by the r4, but the more I look around the more I can see many saying solutions will only work with DS lite.

Is there anything I can do???

Nintendo DSi: Top screen faded with flickering lines

One day, I turned on my DSi and the top screen was faded with what looks like interlacing artifacts always going down the screen. Today, I took it apart, cleaned all of the contacts with 70% isopropyl alcohol and I noticed that the screen works completely fine without the shoulder buttons and SD Card slot (back panel) connected. However, when I plug the back panel back in, the problem appears again. I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to electronics so I decided to come here to ask how to fix it. Thanks!
