Nintendo 3DS 2015: Volume slider stuck at 85% MOTHERBOARD ISSUE

So i bought this new 3ds from japan, I think it had liquid damage cause the camera was broken and the 3d and volume slider were stuck to the max. I replaced the camera and the speakers flex so the camera and 3d work 100% now but the volume is stuck at 85% (i confirmed this with luma) and I replaced the motherboard with another one and to test and the volume slider worked with that one.

Edit: I checked with 3dsident, the 3ds reads the volume slider always at the max, not 85%

Any idea on how can I fix this?

Nintendo 3DS 2015: 3DS doesn't charge or work unplugged, but sees the battery fine

[It's USB-C modded, fiy]

Recently, I've decided to pick up my New 3DS to play some Picross, and noticed that it wouldn't power on. I tried charging it over night, but it still wouldn't work, I assume it never charged despite turning on the charge light.

I checked with a multimeter and the battery only showed 1.2v, so I'll assume it's dead dead.

As I've been waiting for a new battery to arrive, I've been playing it with a power bank attached.

Today, it arrived, and the 3DS doesn't turn on with it. It sees the battery, it shows it's fully charged, but when I unplug the power bank, it immediately shuts off.

I don't want to assume I have a new dead battery just yet, but I haven't opened it just yet.

Pertaining to the USB-C mod, it's only become an issue now, despite around a year of using it, it charged the battery just fine.

Edit: Here is a picture of my board and mod. It's not the best, but I'll get a better one when I can

Edit 2: I think I have found the issue... Those cables aren't meant to be crimped, are they?...

Edit 3: I have tested what I presume to be both F1 and F2 fuses (it's the ones surrounded) and they appear, at first glance, to be nominal. There's a slight voltage drop in the F2 fuse (from 4.3 to 3.7 volts), but not being sure about nominal voltages, I'm assuming they're fine.

Nintendo 3DS 2015: My New 3DS turns on and then off with a popping sound.

After spilling around a third of a cup of dilute orange juice back in 2016, when I turn on my New Nintendo 3DS, the blue light comes on for about three seconds and then the bottom screen flashes for less than a second and instantly turns off which is accompanied with a popping noise. The humidity sticker near the battery is untouched and when I disassembled the New 3DS there were no signs of corrosion or water damage to the motherboard. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Update 2026: Board pictures. No noticeable corrosion to the board and the water sticker is undamaged. The flap for one of the touch screen ribbon cables is missing, but the issue I'm having was present before breaking that off. Continuity for caps on the board seems to be fine after a quick probe. I should mention that when the console came into contact with orange juice, the top screen failed with bottom screen still working for a bit. Cannot remember if it died or I turned it off and turned it on again.

I have swapped the top screen before in an attempt to fix it with no progress. The bottom screen flashes - I've read online that this indicates its okay and it would be the top screen that is the issue hence why I replaced it - and the power board has its LEDS working. Not sure where to go from here.

Here are pictures of the speaker ribbon cable assembly.

UPDATE: Well boys, I have to say I'm quite chuffed. After 10 years of being dormant I finally get a chance to use my present. I believe the issue was the speaker ribbon cable. The bottom screen probably needs a replacement too. To think Nintendo weren't bothered replacing a ribbon cable for 80 quid is mad. Very happy with this.

Note the date on the screen. As of June 2nd it's all over after a couple attempts and a whole 4 year electronics degree :]

Nintendo 3DS 2015: Right half of the bottom screen not displaying correctly

A friend accidentally dropped his New 3DS and now the bottom screen is like split in half, with the right side not displaying correctly. It's darker with vertical lines, like it has a scanline effect.

I have already taken the console apart and inspected it inside under a microscope, and the connectors and the ribbons of the screen looked fine. I also reseated them but that did not change anything. Any ideas what could have happened and is it fixable with a screen replacement? I don't want to just order a new screen if I'm not entirely sure it will fix the problem.

Nintendo 3DS 2015: Touchscreen and buttons not responding EXCEPT the 'new 3DS' buttons

So, my New 3DS developed this funny thing last week. After a few minutes of being turned on, all input would freeze with the exception of the ‘new 3DS’ buttons. For example, I can still scroll through the home menu using the nub (C-stick?) and the two small bumper buttons. However, I cannot select anything as the A, B, X, Y, touchscreen, D-pad, circle pad and the large bumpers are all unresponsive.

Since then the problem has started to occur earlier and at present it manifests right from when I start the console.

While it was still working, I’ve done a factory reset and updated to the latest software, none of which helped.

I’ve opened the console up but couldn’t discover any physical cause.

Nintendo 3DS 2015: My 3DS won't turn on

I have had this console for at least 8 months, and it died on me. It was working fine too before it broke. No blue light would appear when I pressed the power button, and when I charge it, the orange light appears, then later dies after a few minutes. The weirdest thing about this error is when every once in a while, the New 3DS would boot on, and the battery would say that it's 3 bars full. Then after like 10 minutes, it shuts off automatically. What can I do to fix this issue? My DSi also died the same way, before the 3DS broke. I even changed the battery, and that still doesn't fix it. I want to deconstruct the 3DS, and see what's wrong, but i'm scared that i'll break the console. Is there a solution to fix this issue, or do I have to buy another one?

I haven't used my New 3DS in a few months and wanted to play it again. However, every time I try to boot it, it turns off with a popping sound. It only works fine if I don't open it to a certain point. I'm not very sure what could have happened as I've only had it for a year and I've been taking care of it. I never dropped it poured any liquids on it or anything like that. I also applied a clear case and screen protectors on it for extra protection not too long after buying it. I also clean the console on the outside regularly but I've only cleaned the inside once. Before I used it today, it had been in my draw for a few months. Does anyone know what the cause is? Could it be age, dust or anything else? What would I have to do to repair? Would I have to replace a flex cable? I have seen other people have this problem and the mention the flex cable, but I haven't seen anyone able to solve the problem on a New 3DS, only the older model. Any advice would be appreciated.

What is this tape and where do I buy it? I'm really confused by it, seems to be black double sided tape with silver metal tape in the middle. I'm not sure if it's meant to be stopped or helping conduction, it's really confusing me and I just need to buy something so the replacement can be installed.

Nintendo 3DS 2015: New 3DS (KTR-001) (NOT XL/LL) IPS screen source and other parts

So I'm sure some have noticed that part availability for the KTR-001 is limited at best online. Parts for the XL/LL (RED-001) model are very easy to come by but the standard size has little to none available. Does anyone know a reliable source for replacement parts? I'm also looking to replace both of the displays on my KTR-001 with IPS displays. If anyone has a source for the upper and lower IPS displays I'd appreciate a link or help locating a source. Both of my displays are TN panels and I'd be willing to purchase the new displays and even trade my current displays with money added for the IPS displays. Thank you in advance!

Nintendo 3DS 2015: Why does my 3ds freeze when accidentally bumping it on something?

While playing with my 3ds, if I move it even a slight bit, it'll freeze up, all sound will become silent, and it'll become unresponsive to all buttons aside from the C stick and power button. If I force power-off the 3ds, it'll turn off like normal, and then once I turn it back on it usually works just fine as well (though, this isn't always the case. I've turned it off and on and it'll still be unresponsive). This issue is reoccurring and I've tried to fix it but I'm not quite sure what the problem is.
