I understand there is a small Lithium Ion battery somewhere on the mother board but I cannot seem to locate it on any of the photo shown here. Apparently it is the CMOS battery, and it is very small. If I could be pointed to the correct board on any of these photos, maybe I could determine how difficult it is to replace. I also undersand it needs to have the 2 terminals desoldered on the old battery and then the new battery can be soldered in. This may be the correct Seiko battery part number

Nikon D5100: Camera won't turn on, keep indicate low battery

So the day before I had to shoot wedding, as usual I did a camera test and suddenly the camera turned off, I don't know what happened. it only indicates low battery through the viewfinder.

oh maybe I didn't fully charge it!

charge it back, doesn't work!

oh maybe my battery is leaking/damaged!

tried my other battery, still doesn't work!!!

oh maybe my charger is broken!

bought a new charger, still doesn't work!!!!!

and I have to rent a camera to shoot the wedding. The camera is about 7 years old and I checked the shutter count around 75k. I hope someone can help me with this, whatever it is will be appreciated. Thank You

Nikon D5100: Half the Picture is Black

Hi,

About a week ago, I noticed when I took a few pictures half of the image was covered in solid black.

I changed shutter speeds, reset the camera to factory settings and changed lenses but nothing seems to resolve the issue.

Now all my pictures have this issue so it seems to be progressive.

A local repair place said it might be something to do with the mirror box.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi, Thank you for the response. The Mirror does go up quickly and back down again. Looking at the pics, it is the top of the image that is black.

Nikon D5100: How do I realignment viewfinder

I have had a D5100 for several years. A couple years ago I dropped it. Everything still works except that I can not get a sharp image in viewfinder. It is impossible to focus manually but if I set up my focus points where I want, the autofocus will do a fine job. Images are perfect. Live view also works and gives sharp image but that drains batteries too fast. I have determined that the prism is slightly jarred out of alignment causing the eyepiece to be out of focus. Not sure how or if this is fixable. What is your experience with this area? Thanks.

Nikon D5100: black line while taking Picture on the side

Hey Guys,

I am non pro Photographer Using Nikon D5100 for a very long .

Now days facing prob that while capturing images Black Line is covering on the top or side of the Image.

Tried to change settings but it remains there.

Can any one help me in this regards???????.

Nikon D5100: Screen grey when taking photo but displays photos correctly

Hi. I shoot on manual mode only with prime lenses. My display screen looks grey and grainy when I’m setting up a photo but it takes the photo with the correct exposure and displays the photos on the screen with the correct exposure. It seems the screen itself is working properly. Could it be the shutter isn’t staying open when not actively taking the photo? How do I fix?

could it be I need to replace my battery?

Get an error message in my view finder "r17" . The camera will not calculate the light and speed correctly and I get over exposed picture. In outdoor mode it works perfect. In "m" mode i should define the speed and aperture by myself and get wrong sign on the scale of the camera. .need help.

GREETINGS! There are two spots visible in every image i take. I've managed to remove one on the outer side of the glass cover of the sensor, but i noticed that the other tiny dirt is at the back of the said glass cover. I realized that the only possible way to remove the dirt is by removing the glass cover. is it possible? -Thank you.
