Nikon D40X: When shooting a long delay before the picture is taken.

When taking a photo the camera delays between pressing the release and the picture being taken. I have set the camera to completely manual, exposure and focus, and it still delays. It appears to start doing this after warming up. Is this a processor problem or another part? If this is an inexpensive repair then I would do it. Any advice would be helpful.

when i press the shutter button

Nikon D40X: shutter lens and cover detached from holder

the lens and surround have detached from the wire holder. My local camera store have said it not repairable. It seems a shame to retire the camera for this fault. Can you confirm their assessment or is a repair possible?

Nikon D40X: Looking for replacement screws for my D40x
