Nikon D40: memory card wont formatt.

Nikon D40 camera. I have put 2 brand new 64gb so cards in it and they go thru the formatting process but keep coming back as “card full”. HELP!

I have a nikon D40 camera with error press shutter release button again. replace the shutter loading unit with new one. But the problem remains as it is when I replace the main board the problem is shoot out can u tell me what is the problem in the main board

My camera just kept in my drawer for quite longer after using it. When i have to used it again in one occasion, the shutter released was stock. i have tried some cleaning, and checking the shutter release but it does'nt helped me. I need some advice from anybody regarding my problem.

I was gifted a Nikon d40, and it worked fine 2 years ago, it's been sitting in its bag and the closet since. I wanted to get back into using it, however, i cannot get it to shoot if its all set to auto-focus, i have to set it to manual focus, and nothing turns out focused. Is this a lens problem?

Nikon D40: SD card jammed in backwards. What now?

I gifted my Nikon D40 body and lenses to my kid, who promptly put the SD card in backwards, and now it won’t budge. Let’s assume the slot is fine and will work if the card is extracted. Is anything less than a total breakdown possible? I learned not to just unscrew things willy nilly with these cameras a long time ago. Any resources on play by play to attempt this? Thank you!

Hi. I’m wondering if an older Nikon D40 would be a suitable camera to learn and practice with. It’s a little older, which generally seems to have disagreed end with most options recommended one around 2 years old.

Upside for me is I can use this for free which greatly helps. Also a 55 to 200mm lens and a 35 to 55 mm lens to use. Appvn

So would this be an ok option to learn photography?

Nikon D40: Why does D40 make a fast repetitive clicking when I press shutter?

It usually takes a photo, but every so often it will just make click, click, click,click sounds that repeat until I take my finger off the shutter button. Then no matter what setting I choose it won’t work. If I try again a few minutes later it is back to being responsive again. What is the issue?

Nikon D40: All photos are dark, even on manual and very dark on auto.

I have a old D40 DSLR which worked fine for me, then everything went dark, the photos that is. All functions appear to work normally, it is just taking very dark pictures. It happened suddenly and as I was working away I am only getting round to looking at it now. It has charged up ok and operates fine, excepting as I desribed above.

Any solutions or ideas?

Hi, all of a sudden my camera will not work at all. I thought maybe it was the charger, got a new one. I thought it was the battery, I got a new one, I got a new plug for charger too. Still not working at all. Is it worth it to have it fixed? Do you see this happen a lot with this camera? What could it be?
